Evernote desktop view takes over 'Windows' taskbar etc.

The Windows Desktop app is opening as a larger than maximized screen(!) on my PC, with no room for any of Windows' taskbar or "- or x" symbols. Multitasking only works by using the 'alt + tab' key combo.
I am running the latest Evernote version. 10.50.10
Changing the Windows properties of Evernote between 'normal, minimized or maximum' screen size makes no difference.
Is it worth mentioning that when I hit the 'end ' keystroke, a programming interface appears in Evernote.  I used to use this key to get to the end of a text line, but this now depends on how the keyboard function keys access is configured. Hopefully, I did not inadvertently alter some Evernote internal configs.
A complete uninstall and reinstall did nothing to alter my issue.

Thanks for reading, Chris.

Hi.  This is a Windows issue,  not an Evernote one.  Try using the Windows key plus an arrow key to move your rogue window around.  Win + left-arrow should bounce and resize it to the left side of your screen for example.  If you then sign out of Evernote with the window in that position,  it should always open up in that format in future.
