Edit + Highlight PDFs directly

I love being able to open PDFs right within notes but since I take notes on my professors' lectures during class, that annotate feature is too clunky and slow to keep up.

I would really like a way to be able to highlight text directly in the PDF and insert a new textbox to type right on top of each page.

Sorry for you - you picked the wrong OS.

This works on every Mac - EN v10 opens a pdf directly in the MacOS Preview App. This has full pdf annotation capabilities, much superior to the internal tool. On closing the pdf in Preview, all changes automatically sync back into the pdf stored in EN.

But I know about such an integration only with the EN Mac client and MacOS. Maybe one of the Windows users can help you along.
