Cannot log in - only 2 devices linked but app says there are more!

New device today. Unsync’d old phone, wiped it clean. But no matter how many times I unsync the old device on my account, Evernote still thinks I have exceeded my limit and won’t let me log in from my new phone. Help!  Have just a laptop and iPhone 13.

If you have a new phone, where is the old one ?

You need to take EN off the old one and unsync it before launching it on a new one.

I wiped the entire phone clean so that all apps were removed and then I went to EN and made sure that it was also un-synch'd.  Now the site says that I've already reached my max number of un-sync requests.  So I'm hosed!

You can unlock the situation by subscribing to Personal for a single month. This lifts the device limit, and you get access to support to sort things out, if need be.

Aware that would be an option...but it would be a sad, sad day if I need to pay to have a problem fixed that is likely with THEIR product.  If an "operator error", then I understand.  But I did exactly what I was supposed to do.  Not a great recovery plan.  If they can't fix it, then it's probably best that I not continue to use their product.  Missed opportunity to convert me to a paying subscriber...but why pay if this is the level of service to expect.

My sympathy from user to user for your situation.

There are 2 ways out of it: Wait 30 days until your free plan unlocks, or subscribe for the minimum plan and duration.

Next time unsync first. 

And please: Don’t tell you would have subscribed, if … You just got yourself one of the most expensive phones on the market. You had and have the money to subscribe - you did not out of your free will and decision. Nothing wrong with it, you just need to accept the consequences as well.

Good luck on that!  I’ve been waiting weeks on the same issue and only response has been to wait 30 days to reset.

So pay to have a fundamental problem fixed…shouldn’t be so problematic to reset your account. If that’s what to expect as customer service, it surely doesn’t compel me to upgrade.

Free always had the device limit, but you could unsync without a limitation.

Now add several Free users who worked around the device restriction by permanently swapping devices. They violated the device limit - bending the rules to their advantage.

OK, so EN decided to get serious about it - and installed the unsync limit. This was about one year ago.

Since then it happens to users that they find themselves locked out temporarily. You must not be happy about it - but this was changed for a reason.

EN still allows an indefinite use of the Free plan. They just make sure that it happens within of the limits. You can always subscribe, solve the problems and fall back to Free again.

I have been using EN on my cellphone and my computer for months, and the problem keeps happening clearly after a month. We are suppose to have the control to disconnect at least one device that could be dangerous just for security. But EN let it open for a month or months like my case, and don't know if it could be for years. There is something you EN must have already clear about it, you have, and you will have a lot complains about this situation. So many people can't be wrong.

It is very disrespectful to mess with the conditions, possibilities and economic decisions of others. Who knows if that cellphone was a gift or whatever. If insulting to get them to buy your product is your method, it will fail them very badly.

I think it is disrespectful to expect others to cover the cost of your usage, just to make you think „how respectful is this !“.

I rather have my subscription money invested into devs and hosting my data, than caring about not messing up you feelings. Free means you are a user, not a customer - your terms of usage can be changed any time

You really like to mess things up... Do you work for the IRS or what? Don't you know what it means to respect a rule? If EN doesn't want to give anything for free, they can just do it. But they can't promise something that doesn't work. 

Either you get paid very well from EN or you don't have much to do instead of just having time to talk about your premium plan very arrogantly through all the EN topics.

I have too much to do, and no body pay me for it, so keep going with you really bad stuff.

Give me one single good reason why part of my subscription money should be funneled to enable your continued free ride.

You are on a trial plan, and all you are whining about is it doesn’t serve your continued use in every detail. Wrong approach - pay or drop it.

Same issue here plus I get a sales pop up saying I have to purchase to continue.
