Evernote Crashes at Least Once/Day on OSX Desktop

Freezes is not the same as crashes. A crash means it is taken down, freezing can simply mean the app is busy, making it unresponsive.

What does the activity monitor say when this happens ?

If you prepare to force close the app - does it say in the little window that the app is not reacting any more ?

Not responding can mean it is busy, or it has already crashed, only keeping up the GUI. Hard to decide by remote analysis.

Since EN relies heavily on the server data: How good is your internet connection ? Do you connect the Mac by Ethernet cable, or by WiFi to the home network ?

If on WiFi, you can try a cable connection to see if it improves the situation.

Then there is a standard procedure do solve any issues with the local database:

  1. Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“
  2. Lag out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q)
  3. If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac
  4. Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync.
