R.Cooksey 4
What is the deal? I am on a premium account. Evernote freezes up at least once/day. 1 Link to comment

Level 5 PinkElephant 8,819 Posted September 17, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted September 17, 2021 Freezes is not the same as crashes. A crash means it is taken down, freezing can simply mean the app is busy, making it unresponsive. What does the activity monitor say when this happens ? If you prepare to force close the app - does it say in the little window that the app is not reacting any more ? Link to comment
yellowman 0
Hi everyone, In spite that I updated to the most recent version of Evernote, it continues to crahs on Mac. Please see file attached. Very frustrating. Best Yellowman Link to comment
R.Cooksey 4
Okay. I'll let you choose the word. Spinning beach ball of death for a long time. Force quit has the message you asked about - not responding. 1 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,819 Posted September 18, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted September 18, 2021 Not responding can mean it is busy, or it has already crashed, only keeping up the GUI. Hard to decide by remote analysis. Since EN relies heavily on the server data: How good is your internet connection ? Do you connect the Mac by Ethernet cable, or by WiFi to the home network ? If on WiFi, you can try a cable connection to see if it improves the situation. Then there is a standard procedure do solve any issues with the local database: Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“ Lag out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q) If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync.
