fdanowski 0
Hi: This shouldn't be a difficult thing... at all. I believe that there used to be a way to save the local database to a different drive other than C. What happened to that? Conversely, I tried reinstalling Evernote desktop so that I can choose to save both the program and the database on a drive that I actually have space on, but it apparently doesn't even give you an option to install Evernote on a different drive than C. This is mucho limiting... Is there any way to move either one, or both, to any drive that I have that has free space? The way that I organize my files is to keep all of my documents off of my C drive to save space and boost performance. Thanks! Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,829 Posted August 23, 2021 Level 5* Share Posted August 23, 2021 Hi. Evernote Legacy allows you to install or move the database around. So far v10 does not. Link to comment
BJ1359 4
As of 1/9/2023 is the above still accurate? (Not able to put data on a separate drive when running the program on C drive) Thanks. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,391 Posted January 9, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted January 9, 2023 You can use a symbolic link to move the database to another drive. Search the web or YT for tutorials. Don’t move it to a turning disk - this would massively downgrade performance. 1 Link to comment
