Bug with a Russian letter in tags names

vaganto

Idea

I use the Russian version of Evernote. There are several tags with the Russian letter ‘б’ (b) in its names in my notes (for example, «проблема»). After entering this letter in the tags field («проб») under the note, I move on to the next tag. Important note: the same key is responsible for the Russian letter ‘б’ (on the Russian keyboard layout) and for the comma (on the English layout).

I think you have got to the root cause of the problem. Typing a comma on my keyboard has the effect of adding the tag and moving on to the next tag. This is why you can paste a comma separated list of tags and it will parse them into separate tags. I can only suggest that in the short term you don't use tags which contain the character. I would also raise a support ticket. I don't think EN has handled different keyboards very well and they need to know that not all their users use a US English keyboard. Most of the problems have been caused by EN hijacking particulat key combinations as keyboard shortcuts - now that these are editable that problem has gone away.

You may try if you can edit the shortcut.

Or use a slightly different letter when writing a tag that contains it. Not a nice workaround, because you need to remember it when typing in a search - but probably the fastest solution.

You may ask support as well (if you are a subscriber).
