HenrikAhlen 3
I like the new version 10.8.6, much more stable than previous version. But it frequently consumes a lot of CPU power. I notice that the fan in my MacBook Air 2018 (16Gb RAM, Big Sur) text input into notes get very sluggish, takes 10-20 seconds from test input on the keyboard to text appearing in the note and my Activity Monitor says that Evernote (Helper (Renderer) consumes up to 90% CPU. I only have 4-5 open notes with plain texts, so why is it so CPU-intensive? Regards, Henrik Ahlen Link to comment
remy_ 9
Any follow-up from the team ? I'm facing the exact same issue. Evernote consumes very often more CPU than Google Chrome opened with 20 tabs... Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,117 Posted July 17, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted July 17, 2021 On a Mac 90% of CPU means 90% of one core. The activity monitor does count the CPU usage of one core, this is why the CPU value can go above 100%. When it seems too high for you, quit the app (cmd-q) and restart it. Link to comment
