BiL Castine 2
hi support peeps, I saw a popup advertising an upgrade to Skitch for Mac v2.9, but in the release notes section the message just says: AccessDenied Access Denied6D772BB9874728CBn8PzLA+CmB/CitIYplEQztbVTHtb5OcTNgSxamREp2u1JPKbJ4jM9n8ySQ7WmIKbN7ikBorC4mk= Any idea what's in the Skitch update? 2 Link to comment
jed 0
Would love to know -- such a message has me hesitant to do the update. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,116 Posted November 24, 2020 Level 5 Share Posted November 24, 2020 Skitch 2.9 is just a normal release. Nothing in special, works with legacy. Have not tested it with v10 yet. Link to comment
ATHiker95 1
Any more word on what the Access Denied Message means? I'm running High Sierra on a 2010 iMac. Don't want to try to install something that may ***** up my current version of skitch (2.8) Thanks, Mark Link to comment
PatrickMetzger 0
Any info on why this message is displaying? It sounds like other users have installed everything successfully, but this strikes me as incredibly odd. I'm on Mac OS 10.14.6 on a 2018 MacBook Pro. I just installed Skitch. I downloaded it from the Internet for the first time on this machine, opened the zip file, moved it to Applications, and opened it on my computer by double clicking the file in Applications. Right away I got this message. Given that in the last few weeks it's come to light that the US Government and companies like Microsoft were the victims of some of the biggest hacks in history, I think this issue warrants an official response beyond just "it's just a normal release," since this is clearly abnormal behavior. Even if it's an innocuous bug it should be acknowledged as affecting so many users (and ideally resolved, but I have less faith in Evernote these days). In the meantime, I've decided not to install Skitch onto this machine and will be using the native Mac Command-Shift-4 cropped screenshot tool. Link to comment
Dan York 1
Any update on this? I just tried to update Skitch to 2.9 today and still see these bizarre release notes. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,116 Posted June 15, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted June 15, 2021 If you want to know, the forum is not the best place. Instead issue a support ticket. Skitch has not been updated for quite a long time. The iOS release is 5 years old ! Link to comment
macfixer 705
I just checked the release notes on the Mac App Store (the only place where you can reliably download Skitch 2.9). According to the Mac App Store, Skitch 2.9 adds: Quote You can now sign in to Skitch using your Evernote Business credentials. Your annotations will then be synced with your Evernote account. 1 Link to comment
