I also miss this feature.  I know a lot of people are complaining about missing tabs, but I used this more often as I liked being able to put the different windows on different monitors, or put them in a different Mac Desktop that I could quickly swipe back and forth between.  This is helpful when you're working on different stuff and don't want to lose your place.

+1 really miss the ability to have two different instances of Evernote open on two different Mac screens, with different searches/notebooks selected

Yeah, I really need this feature too. It becomes very necessary once you have lots of notebooks.

And please add the keyboard shortcut "Alt Command N" back in too.
