Search function does not work

I guess this is just a bug report of sorts as it's clearly the program. It's been happening consistently for months and is one of the many reasons I suspended my plus membership. For example, just tonight I was searching for a recipe in all notes/my recipes notebook and the key word would not return any of the recipes with that word clearly in the title/contents. This happens regularly. Hoping this can be fixed as something so fundamental should not be so broken.

It would help if you post a screenshot of the your actual search screen.  
We've had users needing the advice on the proper method of using the search feature

We have noticed two issues caused in recent upgrades

1. Mising data in the database copy maintained on the Mac computer
   This can be fixed by triggering a full sync;   Hold the Shift and Option keys on your keyboard and click the sync wheel
    
2. Incomplete search index
   This can be fixed by rebuilding the search index
   Hold down the option key, click Help > Troubleshooting > Recreate
