  1. As Keynes said, The market can remain irrational longer than the individual can remain solvent. In this world EN do not have the luxury of 1-2 years to play with. But if a smart team thought that they could replicate the best of EN, ie the feel of the older versions then there clearly is a ready market of disgruntled EN subscribers. I would certainly consider investing in that startup. There is potentially a great business here.
  2. Hello Pink Elephant, I suspected you would want to comment on my post. I am essentially paperless. All paperwork is scanned, shredded and stored in EN. I have paid for the full subscription for over 10 years. I dont think that Sonoma is dramatically better than the earlier operating systems. They are incrementally a little better. But sadly EN has lost its way a little and is losing subscribers as a result. Just look at the reviews. I very much hope the new management can get things back on track. I will continue to use EN as it does what I need and there is a familiarity . But it's incrementally adding features I dont need and removing ones I do. Thats it. Sometimes, like cars, the older ones can be preferable. I still like EN version 7
  3. I completely agree with you Alxa I kept spare Imac solely to be able to run Evernote 7.14. For my use, I thought the design was better and the functionality on simple things like changing dates of note creation was preferable. I also got fewer errors when opening PDFs. Evernote, for those simple folk like me, who just want a basic note package, Please can you reinstate the old style functionality? (and PinkElephant, I really dont need your tuppence worth as to why I am wrong to want this)
  4. PinkElephant , EN have agreed that there is an instability. EN has now generated around 700 duplicates. Their support team have been working on it for a week. Your inclination to use "We Think" infers that you are in some way part of the EN team. I dont want to appear rude but your post on this is Incorrect, you inferred involvement misleading and your tone condescending. This forum is meant to be a help resource to other users. You clearly missed that memo.
  5. ..but re-reading your post, and I am sure you didn't mean to, but you come across as rather dismissive and condescending. I am just a subscriber, trying to get EN to do what it was always rather good at doing in the past.
  6. Thanks for your response. A block of my notes (50-60) continually resets its Created date to today . Also notes that I have deleted (both on Web version and Local) reappear, with today's creation date. Finally, I need to import and catalogue a block of documents from 1980-1995. The current version will not allow this timeline to be created. The legacy version does. Why does one device running Ventura work ok and the other says missing plug-in? Perhaps my terminology was incorrect but the time-line on my notes has certainly corrupted whilst it appears that notes from pre 2015 cannot be date-stamped with a new Creation and update date.
  7. Thanks for your helpful input agsteel. How do I adjust settings to display PDFs? I am a fully paid up subscriber and want to use the legacy version (dates corrupting on V10). On my laptop there seems no problem but my desktop (both Mac) I get the error message "missing plug-in" Getting pretty frustrated with the instability of EN right now.
  8. Thanks for the comments gazumped and Boot17. I am pretty relaxed about legacy versions being retired, but as has been commented on many times here, the newer versions in the past seem to add little required functionality and remove some useful legacy features In my view. Personally I am looking forward to BS's input as the old EN team seem to have forgotten the core functionality of their product.
  9. We know that Evernote has been bought by Bending Spoons. They know that Evernote has recently has an appalling series of software problems/issues. Can we please, on behalf of the 200 odd million users, be given some colour on what is going to happen to this product? I have been a paid subscriber for over a decade, Radio silence from the new owners is a concern. Please keep us in touch with your plans, (ideally which allows us to use V 7.14 which puts V 10 to shame) Thanks
  10. This is probably of no help whatsoever but I have an old Mac tucked away in a drawer that I haven’t used in years. EN appears to be working fine on the device. It’s running High Sierra and EN 7 ( I think that’s the version) the old interface is an absolute joy. The various “upgrades” over the last few years have done nothing to improve functionality or features. The old interface is cleaner too. Perhaps EN should go back to selling branded printers and water bottles. EN Please stop trying to fix things that ain’t broke.
  11. Thanks for the update AGSteel. Really appreciate the input. I will raise a ticket as you suggest.
  12. I am staggered to read this thread. I have had the same issue of Notes failing to open/ content lost. This is the very backbone of what we rely on Evernote for. I have been using EN for well over 10 years and have around 10,000 notes filed. Obviously I am a paid subscriber. How can they allow the core functionality of their product to fail? Raising a ticket with EN support belittles this issue. In my case I keep a backup in another folder, outside the EN architecture. Thankful Mac Finder seems to locate the required notes. EVERNOTE - YOU NEED TO SORT THIS OUT. It should not have happened in the first place.
