Password protect a note

Is there some way to put a password on individual notes (as opposed to encrypting selections of text)?

I've searched high and low ... but cant figure out if this is possible.

Evernote only supports encryption of text within a note

I also use native encryption on attachments (pdfs, office/iwork documents, ...)

There’s also third party products; for example Saferoom encrypts a note

i wonder why such an obviously useful feature isnt in evernote?

You can search the forums; there are various posts with discussion.  Most of discussions focus at the notebook level for password/encryption. 

Personally, it’s not a priority for me.  As I said, for sensitive data, I use native encryption of attachments.  This way, I’m not locked into Evernote and my data is portable

Password on a Note is a MUST. I left MS OneNote which has this feature and I am thinking to turn back to it.
