  1. Thanks. I tried pictures but they didn't seem distinctive enough for quick visual identification as they're quite small on the Windows interface. Also they don't quite match up with iOS ones and sometimes the substitutes are a bit odd. So I decided to go far plain coloured squares and now I'm a lot happier now (especially after also solving the performance and sync issues with my iPad by deleting the app, powering down and then re-installing; thanks for that tip too.)
  2. Thanks. I found how to switch on the Touch keyboard on my desktop PC (right-click task bar and "Show touch keyboard button)
  3. Hi agsteele and thanks for your advice on this. I guess you're right. I see that the Windows, web and iOS clients are all much closer in functionality now. I mostly live in Windows myself and don't really care about the others too much. I just wished they'd given proper warning about what was about to be changed so radically before the upgrade. I would have happily stayed on v6 forever. If it aint broke, don't fix it 🙂 I have tried the icon thing. Its not a bad workaround but they don't look the same on Windows and iOS. I don't know how to add them from the Windows side (maybe you need a touchscreen?) so I add them on iOS and wait for the sync.
  4. Just to let people know, this might help - following PinkElephant's suggestion, I deleted the iOS app completely from my iPad. I then powered off. I re-installed the app v10.14 and provided my account details again. Now it seems a lot faster and the phantom notebooks have gone. I guess I had a local database corruption following the upgrade from v6 to v10 and the subsequent enforced business account split. I hope this helps people.
  5. The main issue I had after upgrading from v6 to v10 was that in the iOS app (not showing in the Windows app) the personal account had stale notebook references to every one of the business notebooks. I had to click on each one-by-one and wait for it to timeout before it was deleted. This took a couple of hours yesterday. Then after that, I still had stacks from the old business account. When I removed the stacks, the contained business notebook references all came back again. So I had to go all through the same procedure again removing one-by-one. At last I have got rid of these phantoms but now I am still having trouble with deleting a notebook in the iOS app I just created as a test. I get the message that it has been deleted but when the app is re-started it comes back and the notebook name now has "(970981)" appended to it. It never syncs to the Windows or Web apps. The iOS app is really dragging and is hard to navigate. Sometime when it opens it get stuck on "Just a few moments.. we're setting up your new app." and does not open. I have to kill it and try again. I think I should find a way to wipe out the local database and re-sync from scratch. I'll try PinkElephant's procedure.
  6. I had something similar. I couldn't delete an empty notebook. I had to put a dummy note into it and then the notebook could be deleted. How dumb is that??
  7. The upgrade from v6.25 to v10.18.3 has been really painful !! Firstly, I work mainly in the Windows desktop version. The update menu there was saying that I was on the most recent version every time I checked. I hadn't realised until I did a manual download of v10 that my v6.25 was old. All I knew was that the mobile app no longer worked because it wanted to split my account and I couldn't work out how to do that in the Windows version. The upgrade took a long time and I was very disappointed to see so many changes in the UI. The main thing I don't like is the loss of font customisation in the sidebar. I had a colour-coded system for tags and notebooks that has now been destroyed without warning. Also the view layouts are not as simple as in the old version. There is too much screen clutter. The main issue I had after upgrading was that in the iOS app the personal account had stale notebook references to every one of the business notebooks (not showing in the Windows app). I had to click on each one-by-one and wait for it to timeout before it was deleted. This took a couple of hours yesterday. Then after that, I still had notebook stacks from the old business account. When I removed the stacks, the contained business notebook stale references all came back again. So I had to go all through the same procedure again removing one-by-one. The iOS app is really dragging and is hard to navigate. Sometime when it opens it get stuck on "Just a few moments.. we're setting up your new app." and does not open. I have to kill it and try again. Lastly, it seems that I can only create a support ticket when logged into the Business account. If I go to the tickets page while logged in as the associated Premium Personal account, there is no option to create a new ticket, only list previous ones. I am really disappointed with what Evernote has done. This "upgrade" seems like a great pile of elephant dung !
  8. Saying that you know about a problem isn't a solution ! Come on, it was October 2020 that you posted this and its still bad in August 2021
  9. This is still a problem on v10.18.3 in August 2021 I upgraded from v6.25 yesterday and had hours of bad experiences. The app on my iPad Air2 is really dragging and is hard to navigate. Sometime when it opens it get stuck on "Just a few moments.. we're setting up your new app." and does not open. I have to kill it and try again. Lots of other issues also encountered, such as stale references to notebooks and stacks that were in the old Business account before they made us split accounts 🤕
