I prefer assisting users with my experience in using the Evernote product

UM, I lost count going through this post, I stopped counting at over 50 posts by yourself telling people to use tags... very helpful that advice right there. You're the #1 poster in this 10 year thread saying useless thing over and over again.

"Son, tell me how I could make things better for you at lunch time?"

"Well Dad we would really like to have some chocolate milk once in awhile"

DTlow  - "Well Son, white milk is just as good"

    "Dad, why did you ask?"

    DTlow - "Good question"

I prefer to be more productive

Yes, it is quite productive to troll a thread for 10 years telling every new person who adds their voice to wanting this improvement why you think it can't be done, or why you think it shouldn't be done. That's the signature of somebody who is productive. 😄

It's about as productive a use of your time as the pinkelephant trolling the thread year after year telling people they should go find another product if they are asking for an improvement on a forum created by the software company itself asking for suggestions of improvements. 🙄

If you love nesting of folders so much, you should probably move to another service.

If your only response to every post is "move to another service"  I would say obviously you have nothing constructive to say, try resisting the narcists in you and don't say anything.

I can't believe the stupidity of anyone continuously trolling the forums and cutting and pasting that to everyone on a daily basis as you do. Too much time on your hands?

Why would anyone with a life come into a thread where people are asking for an improvement in a product and you take the time to say "move to another service" that's really disgusting behavior and a waste of everybody's time and serves no purpose other than to act as a bully or you really must get a huge rush out of seeing your own typing. With over 4000 posts I guess that's a given.

Actually, the Android version 10 is not causing as much difficulty as the desktop applications.  Thankfully, it is possible to go backwards in Android - unlike iOS. It does demand some technical competence but if you need to roll back, ask in the forums and I'm sure one of the regulars will point you in the right direction.

Well that would be something new. Evernote support says no roll back and there is no re-downloading the older version as all they are making available for download is the new version. The only work around is a 3rd party website who provides a copy of the old version, you roll the dice on that one, so again, be careful there is no going back once you upgrade. If you have information other that what I just wrote please let us know the details.

  5. So bizarre that Evernote has a device they created themselves for learning from their user base how to improve their product and they have ignored the #1 request for 12 years? Hard to believe that nobody with a calculator at Evernote has ever figured out how much money they are costing themselves by forcing people to use a search hierarchy (tags) instead of a visual hierarchy (Folders) that is the norm for most of the planet.

I would think if you wanted to increase market share and profitability simply bringing to the market the number one user feature request would be a no brainer.

I would love for Evernote to hire me as an outside consultant to increase their business. I'd submit a report and a bill for $50,000. The report would be one page and say:

"Once a year, develop the top 3 features desired by your customers, as indicated in your forum Called General Feature Request"

    😆😆😆

Evernote as a product has so much positive going for it, just seems crazy they would shoot themselves in the foot and hold themselves back year after year by ignoring their number one customer request.

I have Android 10 but I still haven't gotten the update Evernote App.

I know this is on a whole que system and its going to be some weeks for the role out but uts been about 5 or so weeks right? Any clue on when all v.10 will be rolled out?

Those updates are the reason I went premium again.

Have you seen all the problems people are having with the update???? I'd be very careful, once you update you can't roll back.

    Hey @mikefinleyco

The issues you reported in the first post are known to us. I don't have enough details about your offline claim. If you can provide more detail, that would be great. I can tell you that we have a bug where offline notebooks take longer than expected to download. We're also partially addressing this soon.

Here is a screen shot of evernote not able to display a downloaded offline note...

Really EN should provide a means of rollback given all the features that were dropped by the newest version. Seems to me they should be doing this until the new version is up to par with the legacy app.

I totally agree. Any company with such a notorious history of problems with their updates I would think including a roll back option would be company policy always, it's a defense option for them as well. It gives everyone an escape hatch, not just the users but even Evernote the company a way to take the pressure off themselves with nothing but angry users stuck until they fix their latest updates problems, instead there would always be an alternative for the user to roll back and give Evernote breathing room.

    Hey @mikefinleyco

Thanks for chiming in. Sorry for the delay in responding. We're a small support group and it takes us time to get through thousands of requests from our support ticketing system, social media, forums, etc.

The issues you reported in the first post are known to us. The issue with images not being displayed is being worked on and currently in testing, so we're hoping to have this fixed soon. I don't have enough details about your offline claim. If you can provide more detail, that would be great. I can tell you that we have a bug where offline notebooks take longer than expected to download. We're also partially addressing this soon.

    Thank you for responding Nick.

Evernote logs me out after closing the app and after a few minutes, when I open the app again and I am out of cell coverage I cannot access any of my offline files due to not being able to log back into the app. I've used Evernote for the last 4 years travelling the world and access my information easily through evernote because I use the offline notebooks feature, impossible to do now since Evernote keeps logging me out.

No images show up in my files

Prior to today also there were notes in offline notebooks that would not open,  Evernote would say I needed an internet connection to see the file. As of tonight it appears your team may have solved this issue as these notes now showup offline.

Is there a way to roll back or uninstall and reinstall the previous version of Evernote for Android that I can use until Evernote resolves all of these issues?

I am currently traveling in the back country of Utah and cannot access any of my trail maps or hiking information live during the day as I am out of cell range during that time, So I am resorting to making dozens of screen shots of my notes when at the hotel on wifi at night. Rolling back or installing the previous version would allow me to function until you guys work out your problems.

     Thank you

    Mike

V10 works fine for me for the most part. A few issues I’ve expressed on the forums but by no means ‘bricked’. Are you aware you can download the legacy version for Mac/windows? That may help soothe some of this apparent angst so visibly on display here 👍

I am not aware you can download the legacy version or I would have uninstalled this crappy update and done so a week ago. As far as I know the only legacy versions you can download are Mac and Windows desktop versions. If you can provide a link to how I can download a legacy version for the android phone app version of Evernote please do so I would be very grateful.

The current v10 release level is not the end of the story.

The current version can be used, is pretty stable and has some nice features. Other features are still missing, some are on a timeline (which is nice to have, EN has improved on it's communication), others are pending.

For working on a bunch of notes at the same time I prefer the legacy client.

One can have the impression from some of the posts in this forum that a few users are simply not able to explore and adapt. The overhaul of the platform was long ago announced, and it was clear that it was impossible to continue the "old" EN setup without putting the company into peril. Before v10, updates were few, they came late and it was obvious EN could not keep up with the parallel development of clients for all major OSes plus the main browsers. That was a death spiral.

If a user who doesn't like the new direction did not find a better solution in this time (plus the months since release of v10), it is probably not that bad after all ?!

Are you high? No images showing up, being logged off every time you close the app, then not being able to open evernote again because you are outside cell coverage, off line notes not being able to be openned and on and on as reported by 3-4 dozen users in this forum are examples of people not being able to explore and adapt???

When you go out to start your car tomorrow morning and it doesn't start because of a dead battery and you call for a jump start and they tell there is nothing wrong with your car you just need to explore and adapt I hope you realize how ridiculously stupid your comments are to dismiss other people's uncomfortable experiences based on your own myopic views and experiences.

I just wonder who is the troll here ...

Personally I am just happy when EN staff is busy with answering real user issues, coding away and working on getting the new app where it needs to be. Maybe they should employ a „forum user happiness manager“ to close some useless threads in the  forum, like this one. Would certainly make the forum a happier place.

What exactly are real issues? The process of resolving an update that has bricked  their product for a large group of their paying subscribers isn't a real issue?

  13. There are over 3 dozen posts of bugs about this new upgrade and zero responses from evernote after designating this forum as the place they wanted feedback and bug alerts.

I don't expect evernote to get into a ***** for tat about their horrible corporate environment the front line workers are forced to operate in due to their managers and executive polices, but I do expect them to actually address the information they requested and provide solutions to users problems.

Also with an update so universally acknowledgd as absolutely terrible why are they still promoting downloads of it???

With evernotes neverending history of notorious destructive updates I question also why a roll back option isnt a permanent feature of their software?

My last question is who the hell are their beta testers? The manager in charge of that dept needs to be fired for gross dereliction.

  14. As usual, you make about as much sense as a football bat. Are you just a continuous troll of these forums?

The product manager specifically asked people to post their technical problems and bugs in this forum. I would expect them to want you to do that for a reason, like getting help, addressing the bugs, explaining their progress or resolutions. I guess your expectations are they just want you to post here for cathartic relief. 🙄

  15. G Barry product manager, posted a link in his announcement to

"If you are experiencing technical issues or need to report a possible bug, please do so here:
    https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/718-evernote-for-android-issues-versions-100-and-above/"

Why would the product manager tell users to post in this forum about technical issues or bugs in this forum if they have no intention of actually reading them?

Kind of like - "Hi we just released a fantastic new update to Evernote, if you experience any technical issues or bugs, please write them on a piece of paper and shove them up your ass."

  16. Where are the Evernote employees? Why is there no one answering any questions here?

G Barry product manager makes a grand announcement that the new update for android is here, loud and proud, and the update SUCKS! People are logged off the app everytime they close it, Evernote doesn't work offline, images don't display, all we are waiting for now is for Evernote to delete years of our work.

And nobody from Evernote is addressing any of this?????????
