  1. That's a fair point. Web authors do want control over their layout, and so their formatting has increasing in complexity and specificity. And I grant that initial captures do look pretty clean and complete ... compared to previous versions. The screenshot option doesn't work for me, since it doesn't let me search within the screenshot, but it is another idea that others might find useful. I just find it annoying that even removing formatting leaves me with narrow columns of text that still seem to act according to original formatting. I guess the best answer for me, when I really need to engage with the text, is to copy the material from the web site and paste as text into Evernote. Thank you for your reply!
  2. I understand that Article web clipping uses the formatting and layout from the article, but I do not understand why I have so little control over formatting once the article is clipped ... even after I simplify or even remove formatting! If I so much as try to change the font size on a single word, the entire article's column shrinks even more than the original clipping, and font sizes throughout it are changed. And the same problem holds for Simplified clipping. That doesn't make sense. I have been able to use Clipper as more than just a link to articles I wanted to remember. I have in the past been able to have more control over the articles I clip -- allowing me to format things and insert comments and so on. We lost that ability in Chrome recently, and it looks like those "improvements" have been migrated to Firefox as well. I guess I'll just have to capture the article according to Clipper and figure out some other way to comment within it and so on ... but that's not what I signed up for. You've taken away a lot of ability for me, and I'm really disappointed.
  3. Hello, again. Had a chance to take a break and try some things. I have been able to run all four web clippers on this machine: Chrome on Ubuntu 19.10 (64-bit) Firefox on Ubuntu 19.10 (64-bit) Chrome on Win 10 Pro (64-bit) Firefox on Win 10 Pro (64-bit) ... my main platform for web clipping. Everything seems well behaved. For me at least it looks like your fix may have worked.
  4. Hello. That's great to hear. I cannot log out of Firefox at the moment, but I reopened Chrome and was able to log into the web clipper without problem. I will continue to keep an eye on it over the next few hours and, when I'm able, I'll completely shut down the browsers, reboot, and try it in both Linux and Windows, just to make sure it's all done and dusted.
  5. Quick update. I have been working on other things, but I kept my Firefox browser up and running. I have just clicked on the clipper icon, and it is working. I have just clipped a Simplified article. That's using the same Firefox browser instance with the same tabs (Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Medium) running -- so no clearing of caches or history or anything like that. Again, this looks less like a problem on my machine and something on the service side. But it must not be very common, otherwise I imagine you'd be getting many, many more complaints. I regret that I'm heading into a meeting and will be away from this machine for a while, but I remembered to copy and paste the activity logs from the clipper into the attached file for you. 6. Hello, Shane, and thank you for getting in touch. That is correct. I am logged into Evernote ... on multiple devices. They sync properly and so on. It's just logging into the web clipper that seems not to work. Unfortunately, I do a fair amount of web clipping. Evernote is kind of my storage place for information that I want to have to hand in one source.
  7. That's interesting. Thank you for your reply. Strange that my experience is more uniform (on two mainstream browsers, both up to date, and both run on Win 10 and Ubuntu), but at least I have the sense that I am (that we are) not completely alone on this.
  8. I have had this problem for more than 48 hours now, although there was a three-hour period on Saturday when it was working again. I am unable to log into the web clipper from both Chrome and Firefox on both Windows 10 and Ubuntu. I am using the same tech stack on those machines that I always use. Nothing has changed. I have attached the error screen I get; it pops up after I enter my 2FA code. The screen says it will update, but its message never changes, and I cannot even interact with the extension to get, for example, the activity logs to send to anyone. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and of course I clear cookies and cache (that's actually part of my routine; I keep nothing from browser session to session). I have turned off VPN and even my firewall and antivirus (although, as I said, nothing has changed with them). Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
  9. I agree that Google Authenticator is a good option in general, but I am trying to consolidate all my 2FA requests on the Last Pass Authenticator. Would you please consider adding this capability?
  10. +1 I share the disappointment of those who believe that we're being ignored, despite this request kicking around for a few years. It really isn't that trivial, after all. There are some notes that are simply too important to tamper with, and the option to lock them seems like a fairly obvious feature. Sure there are workarounds (like the PDF idea), but a built-in solution would be most valuable.
