  1. I just checked the Cloudflare console for my company, and it's showing that there was a 1.1.1.1 resolution error early this morning, but that a fix has been applied. Certainly not affecting our services, and the customer boards don't show any queries or complaints. But Cloudflare is a big beast, and not everyone configures it the same.
  2. I was just able to log in, after something like a 5-minute login and 2FA process (normally goes in seconds, of course). The problem continues to be syncing. I get the "syncing temporarily paused" message both on the web and the Windows desktop app. Something's up. I understand things can go wrong, but it's frustrating when status.evernote.com has out-of-date messages about systems working normally. I should also note that the Web Clipper isn't working at all (arguably my main tool). Just have to wait out the glitch, I guess.
  3. Thank you. I didn't mean to break the rules. I just tried to delete on of these posts, but I'm afraid I don't see a way to do that. And no, I'm not at my limits. It's definitely an intermittent problem, since I was just able to attach an image (on the third try) to a note from the Windows app. And thank you for the link. That is most helpful.
  4. [apologies for placing this topic in two forums; I'm really hoping that doubles the chance of someone having a solution] This problem has been intermittent, except for the past 24 hours or so, during which I have been absolutely unable to create notes to which I attach PDFs. These sorts of notes constitute something like 50% of my use of Evernote and haven't been a problem for as long as I can remember (I have been using Evernote a lot longer than the 2017 shown on my profile). If I try to attach from the Windows app, I get a pop-up (attached) saying the attachment failed. If I try from the web, the attachment shows until I go to another note and come back, in which case it just shows "untitled attachment" (also attached). Does anyone have any insights for this problem? Thank you in advance of any solutions you can propose. I hope everyone is having a better day than I am.
  5. Yes, and the real problem is: it was working flawlessly before this most recent "performance" release. I think they introduced a few bugs into that release. I've opened a couple of tickets and sent all sorts of information with those tickets. I hope that helps them sort those new bugs out quickly.
  6. That's strange. I don't really use the web (online) version, but I just went into it, and there's no option for exporting to PDF from there. The help screens only mention exporting to PDF from Windows or Mac. I've tried a few more notes, but so far everything is okay. If I do come across it, I'll be sure to raise a ticket as well, so they have it from more than one person. (Might get it moved up the backlog faster that way.)
  7. That's a fair point, but for the kind of notes that I want to back up (which deal with identity and security and ownership and so on), the embedded documents are already in Dropbox; I use the note to document additional information. I agree with you that expanding the internal content, where possible, would be a great help, such as with that recording booklet.
  8. I just tried to export a couple of notes with embedded content ... both PDFs and audio and video files. They don't export, but show that something was embedded in the original note. That's simple example. It's a note of a recording, in which I've stored the booklet that you can download from the streaming service. You can't see the embedded PDF; it just shows you that there was a PDF as part of the note.
  9. I see all six notes in that notebook, but only one prints. I had been trying to separate the notes on new pages, so I tried to let them start one after the other. In that case, the progress bar showed that it was processing six notes (not stopped after the first), but the output was still the same ... only the first note printed. By the way: I have a professional subscription, but I don't have the badge showing next to "Note order" that you have. I wonder why not. Perhaps I should try logging out, or even logging out, uninstalling, and reinstalling Evernote 10? <update 5 minutes later> okay: this is weird. I realized you can move notes around, so I moved a different note to the top, and it and the next note printed. Just those two. And then I moved that second note all the way to the bottom, and it seems as if everything has printed as expected. Why would that one note cause the export to stall on it? Very strange. I will experiment a little more tomorrow evening (I have to get back to work on some higher priority items). Perhaps, with enough fiddling, I can get what I need out of export now. But it would be great if some of these little glitches would be fixed. And I want my "Professional" badge! 🙂
  10. May I ask: on what platform are you attempting the export? I still mostly work with Evernote on Windows 10 (because I like a big screen, and Evernote looks great on a 32" monitor), and I haven't come across that problem. I did see some truncation when clipping notes from my phone and then trying to export them from Windows and then exporting as a PDF, but that may have been fixed in the meantime, as I just tried it and the export looked great. I use narrow margins, by the way. I even just tried it by exporting one of my very largest notes, created a while ago within Evernote (not clipped from the web, that is), and it printed out all 44 pages with images (it's an art history note with in-line examples) ... nearly 57 MB of PDF (because of the images) ... and there weren't any problems with margins nor with the images being broken across pages (that was fixed two releases ago, I think). Monster PDF, but it looks great. If you can describe how you create the note and then print it, and from what platforms, I could give it a try and see if I have the same problem that you do.
  11. I had never attempted to export a notebook, so I just gave it a try ... and I hit the same bug. I tried first to export the notebook after right-clicking on the name of the notebook and choosing "Export notebook etc.", and then also by selecting all the notes in the notebook and right-clicking the selection to export. In both cases, all I got was the first note, and that is what the progress bar had shown. One and done. I do hope they fix that glitch soon. The more I think about it, the more useful it would be to have a few of my notebooks backed up to Dropbox as PDFs, or even printed out and tucked in the safe ... just in case. In the meantime, I've exported the most critical ones one-by-one and loaded them to Dropbox. Thank you for prompting me to experiment.
  12. It took just about a year. I was pretty surprised at how bare-bones the new Evernote was when it premiered around this time in 2020. I barely used it for the first half year or so, but I slowly starting managing and viewing notes on the more attractive platform. I still needed Legacy to print things out as PDFs to share with non-Evernote users, but the recently fixed export-as-PDF functionality has taken care of that. (Although: I wish they would give us the option of not exporting the title and URL of clipped notes to the PDF.) And so, this morning, after over 10 years as an Evernote user (my account says I have been a member since 5 September 2011 ... but I have some notes from June of that year, so perhaps 5 September 2011 is my first paid membership date), I deleted Evernote Legacy from Windows 10. I tucked the local database and other files into Dropbox, just in case; but I don't expect ever to have to use them. Not sure why I'm sharing this info. (I can't imagine anyone cares.) But Evernote has been an almost daily part of my life since 2011, and — despite trying several other platforms when Evernote 10 appeared and initially disappointed — I cannot imagine using anything else. I hope everyone else's experience is as satisfactory as is mine, or that it gets there for you shortly.
  13. I am extremely pleased with the progress on Save-as-PDF. It wasn't really working for a while, but it has come on strong (whereas the Print capability still has problems that make it unusable, still). My one complaint is that the note title appears in the PDF, and it appears in extremely large font, causing words to wrap around the page (in the middle of the word, I mean) and taking up a great deal of real estate. I would like a check-box to turn off the inclusion of the title in the PDF or, failing that, the ability to downsize that title font. (But exclusion would be preferable.) I am in spitting distance of turning off Legacy for good. The ability to generate a good PDF from 10.x would make that possible.
  14. YOU ARE CORRECT! I haven't looked at it for so long, and -- to be fair -- the instructions DO make it sound as if Google is the only choice. But I am now up and running with Authy (I even got the green elephant head logo with the account entry). Thank you for point me in the right direction. So ... I guess the request should read for Evernote to be more clear that different authentication apps can be used.
  15. That is fantastic! I'm jumping on a call, but I will try to turn off 2FA and then turn it back on using Authy. I'll report back soon! THANK YOU!
  16. Currently we have a choice of SMS (very insecure since mobile networks anywhere on the planet have serious flaws) and Google Authenticator. I won't belabor my problems with Google, but I will point out that I'm CTO of a small capital markets company, and cryptography and cybersecurity are a major part of my responsibilities. Neither my CISO nor I use Google Authenticator if we have a choice of something else, like Authy (my personal and corporate choice). Would Evernote PLEASE give us the option to use our app of choice, as so many other vendors do? I consider this request a priority. Thank you for listening!
  17. Thank you for your replies! It's a really minor matter, I realize. But I'll bet there's an ideas board just for widgets somewhere in the Evernote world, so I thought I would try to get it added.
  18. I know I'm going to get laughed out of the park on this one, but I really enjoy bringing up Evernote and seeing the Home screen (especially first thing in the morning). The banner image I chose looks good, but I would also like to pin an image (or two) to that screen (I have the real estate, since I use a 32" monitor). Would Evernote consider creating a "Pinned Image" widget (akin to the "Pinned Note" widget) to add to the Home screen customization? It would be great if we could then drag and drop and image into that widget (although being asked to choose one when adding the widget would be fine as well). Not up there with commercially viable energy from nuclear fusion, but I thought I would ask.
  19. Exactly. And the new look and feel is just so sharp, especially in dark mode on a large (32"), high-res screen. It's a visual treat to work through the notes during the day. Looking forward to more to come. Oh, and I'm one of those who said I "didn't ask for home" ... but now I enjoy starting the day with it.
  20. The past couple of weeks have seen me make a major transition. All of my interaction with Evernote (except for printing) is now through the new Windows 10 app (or via the Web client when I'm booted into Linux). Sure, there are still a few little glitches, like being able to copy images from one note to another, and the fact that I cannot select an image from Evernote and copy it into an editor like IrvanView ... but I'm sure that will all be sorted. The only time I use the Windows Legacy app is for printing notes to PDF to share with those I have not yet convinced to sign up for Evernote. Legacy still does a beautiful job with it; the new version just doesn't work (not from the app nor from the Web). (There is some sort of scroll-bar image that appears on the right of all pages, not all of the note is printed, and page breaks cut off text lines in the middle, rendering them unreadable in many cases.) But I had a 45-minute online session with one of the Evernote product managers, so I know they know about the problem, and I'm sure they're working on it. It has taken me a while, but I have to admit that Evernote is heading in the right direction, and I should say so, instead of just posting complaints.
  21. Logged into the web and tried to copy just a single image from one note to another, and all I've been getting for several minutes is a rotating circle. Evernote keeps making it sound like we shouldn't be using applications, just the web, but the web doesn't work, either.
  22. This is going to be a bit of a rant, and I'm sorry, but when Evernote lets you down, it decides to destroy you. I had a very large note -- getting close to the Premium limit -- and that's my fault. So I started breaking it down into smaller parts yesterday evening. It seemed to work, but this morning Evernote Web and Windows 10 are out of sync. I clipped a couple of articles that are on the Web, but not in my Windows 10 app. And all of the reorganization I did yesterday is a complete mess. A number of notes duplicated many times, but many others completely missing. And syncing takes forever. PLUS I cannot even scroll through the notes smoothly (both on the Web and in the Win 10 app). Scrolling "sticks" at some point, and then Evernote puts me wherever it feels like in the note. I don't need an application that syncs to-do lists or other trivial things. I want to do real work, real note-taking, with rich images, and I want to be able to depend on it. Seriously: i think the best thing is to use something like Microsoft Word that works day in and day out and just share the pages via Dropbox (which also works, day in and day out). I have just had too many problems with Evernote over the years, and this time it seems to have lost me weeks of work. Sorry for the rant. I was hoping that the new engine would improve things, but Evernote seems as fragile as ever. They really stabbed me in the back this time.
