It is not acceptable to any of us and belaboring the point here to fellow users, who are well aware of the situation, isn’t accomplishing anything.  Vent away to feedback@evernote.com.  Let’s move on here.

But if I vent here, I'll actually get responses. feedback@evernote.com offers absolutely nothing other than a black hole. Does Bending Spoons care? No. Do you care? No, but at least you acknowledge my existence.

I also suspect that the OP here is not a forum regular, so I don't think I'm out of line for exposing the inconvenient truth yet again.

I am fully aware that "moving on" is the healthy and appropriate response, but I really am angry, and this is my only outlet (I have pointed out previously that destroying my laptop is not an option, as I need it, and my company owns it anyway).

So, apologies to those offended by the negativity, but you should probably move on from my posts if they offend you...

  2. My point is that having no support whatsoever is unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances. It may not be helpful to point this out, but frankly I'm sick of this *****.

I'm not sure why it's acceptable to so many of you. It is not the way decent companies do business.

  3. Not to belabor an already belabored point, but this is totally unacceptable. This is not a situation where entering a support ticket and vainly hoping it will be answered is a viable option. The OP needs help NOW, and there is none. This is no way to run a business.

    1 - I don't think v10 is horrible.
2 - I don't think v10 is slow, much less unstable. I use it every day and I'm satisfied with its speed
3 - There really are several features missing in v10. Fortunately for me, none of them are essential. I hope that in the coming months or years BS can include them

Yes, many folks here are completely satisfied, and that's great. I really wish I could join you there...

Of course, because … this is a users forum.  Send to feedback@evernote.com if you want them to see your comments.

If the app isn’t working for you, give them specific feedback why.  Complaining here won’t get you anywhere.

I realize this. I have sent feedback. I don't think they care, but I have sent feedback.

And one person's complaining is another's commiseration...

  6. v10 is horrible. I switched over from Legacy well ahead of time. That didn't make it any better.

A lot of users here don't seem to see the major issues that many of us have w/ v10. They're excited by new developments such as AI (buzz buzz), and don't seem to care about the missing functionality, the incredible slowness, and the instability.

I agree that we all need to make our voices heard, but unfortunately the only folks who seem to be listening are other members in this forum -- some of whom will simply tell you you have a bad attitude and to just live with it.

There is no support to speak of. Not sure how long they can sustain that business model (especially with the huge price hike), but the truth is, they have many of us hooked. I can't switch to a new app without a major disruption in my work schedule. So for now I tolerate the many minor disruptions that waste my time each day. It's a terrible situation.

I know Legacy isn't coming back, but for crying out loud, making the app actually work for note taking rather than piling on new and often useless features seems like a logical approach for the dev team...

Yes I have cleared cache and cookies.  It is doing this for me on both desktop app and mobile app.  If anyone has a phone number or email that I can just try and contact someone that would be great.  It is in regards to a billing issue.

No such thing as a phone number or email address for EN support. They have the absolute worst support on earth (i.e. no support at all).

This link https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new is working for me, fwiw (and it's not worth much).

If you are having so many problems with v10 then wouldn't it really be better to look for another application? Would it be that difficult to switch to another option? You talk as if you are forced to use Evernote and have no choice but I think that is an exaggeration. We all have a choice.

Yes, it would be that difficult.. It would be a LOT of work. Believe me, I explored the possibilities. The structure of my workday depends entirely on EN (I need all the structural help I can get). At this point, the time/effort it would take to switch is less palatable than living w/ v10. On the upside, it may force me into early retirement.

Venting frustrations feels good on the short term. It doesn't help you on the long term, however. Kick a tree helps also for that, or I complain to one of my cats, that works. Works as effectively as venting here. HOWEVER, describing your problems concretely DOES help more than venting. It has a chance of influencing developers, the PO that does read these forums (Right @Federico Simionato you don't fool me, you are too much in sync in your posts with what is going on here, now that you are reading this anyway, PLEASE reintroduce sorting on tags column in note views, like legacy had - end of me hijacking this thread for my personal off-topic desires) and getting people to work FOR you and WITH you.. Leave those emotions in the gym/bed/church, that helps. 😄 though I understand you @kkarney.

Yeah, tag sorting was the first thing I missed in v10. Now i just rely on a saved search which syncs every 15 minutes or so. Incredibly annoying.

I've tried explaining all this to my cats, but they just don't give a s**t, tbh.

I just started typing 10.83.5... The version numbers raise way too fast. It's a signal of Bending Spoons desiring CI/CD, but not being able to. They should slow down A LITTLE, and introduce channels to subscribe to "rock solid stable", "mostly stable new features", "brand new ***** to try out". I am so dependent on Evernote, I would subscribe to rock solid and always be 3 months behind on new features. For me it is a professional tool my whole business I own and my private life depends on. I NEED Evernote for my personal handicaps, and for my real-time desires in business with the 7 meetings I have every day.

Exactly. New features are nice, but some of us are actually using EN to do our jobs, and would prefer not to be guinea pigs. And if we're gonna be guinea pigs, we at least deserve some help through the maze -- but no, no support whatsoever. And a price increase.

It's a horrible way to do business. I would love nothing more than to switch to a more stable and supported product, but over a decade using EN has made it an inextricable part of my daily routine. Unfortunately that routine now takes much longer each day due to dropped features and general sluggishness, but the time it would take me to switch over to a different app precludes me from doing so.

There are some users who want folks like us to just shut up and live with v10. I have no choice but to live with v10, but I'm not gonna shut up about how much it sucks for me, because I have to vent my frustration somewhere, and smashing my laptop to bits is not a viable option.

I find that internal links also don't work between notes in the same filtered list. It seemed to be random to me if they worked or not but maybe there is patten. Also I find that when clicking on these internal links and it can't find the linked note ( even in the same filter ) that my CPU usage goes through the roof. Code is definitely having a dummy spit and then when it can't work it out it goes to home screen,  does nothing or off to some random note.

I don't see a pattern. I often get an "Evernotes is not responding" and i have to restart. In Legacy, if you just clicked on a link in an open note, that link would open in the same window (or you could right click and open it as a tab or a new window). I used this many, many times a day. Now I spend my time dealing with erratic behavior with link clicks, horrible syncing, and just plain slowness. But hey, all kinds of cool AI features and such are coming out every day (for which I personally have no use whatsoever).

  12. Can't say I've seen that issue, although I have a few other issues that constantly make me wanna hit something. Unfortunately, computers are expensive. Even more expensive than an Evernote subscription.

As others are saying -- perhaps you're still stuck on an older version with that bug...?

Don't worry about getting suspended for sending an obscene message to support -- they'll never read it anyway.

Oh, just took under half an hour before one of our Dr.Dooms has shelled out an answer.

Either they mourn the deceased, or they promise evil things in the future. How jolly good my v10 installs are working fine, and I enjoy the sleek interaction and consistency of the interface between my devices. Isn’t sunshine looking especially bright when dark clouds tower on the horizon ?

Thank you, Dr.Doom to make my day even brighter 🤩

    Glad I could help!

After a year with Obsidian I am back with Evernote and really enjoying v10. It's running really well on Windows, iPad and iPhone and I am enjoying the interface, and the way the notes are laid out. I have 2000 or so notes and most of those I just reimported from my backed up ENEX files (made when I left Evernote) and then imported about 100 or so notes from my Obsidian time.

I have been reading this Forum and stuff on Reddit and wondering what I am missing b/c it all feels pretty positive so far ... is disaster about to befall me?? 😉

I think if it's working for you now, you're probably fine. They dropped some things I used from v10 and many of us find it to be painfully slow and buggy. But if none of those things seems to be happening to you, you may be one of the lucky folks for whom v10 is the bee's knees.

As far as I can tell, the only disaster that might befall you is that you might need support (which you won't get). Or, of course, the business might go under because they don't support their product -- but I expect that will take a while...

  15. Give up all hope ye who enter v10. Legacy is not coming back. You just have to decide whether you can afford to spend the time converting to a better app, or if the hassle of doing that outweighs the horribleness that is v10 (I chose the latter, but would advise the former if it's feasible for you).

v10 is truly awful for many of us. Every day I scream at it because it's such a slow, buggy POS. But others love it. Go figure.

Without wishing to further upset the young'uns around here,  I can have the installed and web apps on my desktop,  and the Android app open on my tablet,  and if they're all on the same note,  any changes ripple across all three screens within seconds no matter which one I change.  I'm NOT claiming that's normal and the rest of the world is lying,  just commenting that's how it works for me.  Maybe when (if) Support gets their act back together,  they'll be able to look into individual cases.

What about saved searches? For instance, I have a saved search based on a specific notebook and two specific tags. If I remove a tag or move a note to another notebook, it can take up to 15 minutes for the saved search to reflect those changes -- the note will still be there for quite a while until some kind of magic syncing happens. On Legacy, the automatic sync generally reflected these changes within a few seconds (and I could always manually sync if I was feeling really impatient).

Editing or creating new notes is definitely quicker to sync. Not always within seconds, but not totally unreasonable (although I really do wish I could manually sync whenever I damn well please).

I would in fact posit - a least based on a few profile pics here and putting two and two together - that the divide on whether Evernote V10 is fast enough seems so go down demographic lines to an extent. Older users seem to find the speed of the app perfectly acceptable. So I wonder if that's what's going on here.

Hey -- I'm an older user and I think the speed of v10 is intolerable. 🙂

I wish I could say it's getting better, but it's not. I uninstalled, AppCleaned, and reinstalled. It still sucks.

I spend several minutes of every day now waiting for sync to catch up with me. Because god forbid we be allowed to sync manually.

And of course, there's the small matter of offering absolutely no support to customers who are now paying significantly more for the "enhanced" product.

I got such poor support over an issue a couple of weeks ago that I contacted the product manager directly and oddly the support was suddenly supplied to the level I'd expect. Shouldn't have to be this way.

Dare we ask how you went about doing that?

The support situation is beyond horrible, and something needs to be done about it. If there's another avenue available (other than relying on fellow posters here or creating tickets that will be ignored for weeks), it'd be great to know about it. Maybe if the product manager gets enough "feedback," someone at BS might realize their support is pure BS.

You have a crooked self recognition.

The problem here is that you are not contributing. We don’t need trolls in this forum who greet new users with their foul mood.

OP is not a new user. They are a user who was dependent on Legacy and is now having a rough time of it, in spite of those who insist everything is fine. I am commiserating, something you seem incapable of doing...

  20. Welcome to the Evernote forums!

Unfortunately, Legacy is never coming back. In spite of the fact that so many of us hate v10. Some folks will tell you we're a tiny minority. We're not. But it makes no difference.

You just have to get used to the app being much slower and more buggy. And as for those features that were dropped for v10, forget about it.

Right now, I'm just waiting to see if support will step up to the plate and start actually supporting. If they don't, they're just gonna continue to lose customers (I'm certainly dissuading any potential new users I come across).
