  1. Good info. I saw the like buttons next to comments, but missed the upvote button at top left. That helps. But since this feature *used* to work and since file:// is absolutely standard HTML syntax, the absence of this feature must be considered a regression. Hence, a bug.
  2. Great idea. Apparently, out here in the land of the great unwashed, it is not even possible to file a bug report. Anyone out there with an upgraded version who can?
  3. I'm not sure about that. If that's what it was, the problem should not have re-occurred a month later, when I once again synced my phone to my computer. I haven't tried syncing the phone since then. Will have to run an experiment to see what happens...
  4. Ok. I'm back after a password-reset email.
  5. Well, hell. I am now locked out of my account. I turned on 2-step authentication, but to get a text you have to upgrade. That leaves Google Authenticator. Decided I didn't like that, so I tried to disable it. To do that, I needed to give my password. The newly-created password I carefully wrote down, and which apparently does not work! Grrr...
  6. I have a similar situation. But since it is not quite the same, it may shed light on the underlying problem: I have a Windows Desktop and a MacAir Laptop. EverNote keeps things nicely synced between them. I do *not* have an EverNote app on my iPhone. (I checked) Occasionally I plug the phone into my desktop to recharge, sync contacts, and sync music. AFTER that, EverNote sees three devices, and requires to unsync one of them. (Weird, because again, there is no EverNote app on the phone.) Here's hoping that description helps someone isolate the issue. (And thanks for a great app!)
  7. Is just me, or is there an incredible amount of snippiness in the responses posted here? Anyway, a while back I did find that automatic scrolling behavior was indeed a property of the mouse software. Still see it in the browser, every once in a while. It seems to be caused by some combination of keystrokes I've clicked accidentally. A simple click in the auto-scrolling windows fixes it.
  8. To my mind, it has to be a configuration option. Here's why: When you create a new note, it opens a new window (Windows 10, at least). That's great, because there is lots of room to edit. When you double-click a note, it opens in a new window. (Also great.) It's handy to have multiple windows open, so you're not constantly navigating back and forth to different notebooks. Now then, open a note in notebook A. Then open one in notebook B. Finally, revisit the window for the note in notebook A. As you're editing that note, realize that you want to break in two. Hit Ctrl+N, and copy stuff into it. Terrific. HOWEVER: The new note does not get saved in notebook A (the one that contains the notebook you were editing). Instead, it gets saved in notebook B (wrong notebook!). I can see the utility of a working style that says all new notes go to a default "inbox"-style folder, where you sort them later. But personally, I'd like to see new notes "follow" the current note, the same way new files in NotePad++ follow the currently open file into the folder the contains it. The only behavior that doesn't make sense to me, is the "last opened folder", because if you have notes opened from several folders, you may not recall which folder that was. But I admit that it may work well for people who don't open many windows. The only reasonable solution I see is a configuration option that allows for all three behaviors.
  9. Arghh! I did not mean "you" in specific. I intended the more general statmement (one must, we must)! Gah! Email!
  10. Thanks, Gazumped. I admit to being overly-peevish. That's the trouble with email. You have to remember to add smileys!
  11. It may be "Tech Support 101", but I have dozens of windows open as part of my work, and it's a pain to reopen them all. The OS is Windows 7. I like to check before restarting. Maybe there was an auto-scroll option that got clicked accidentally. Turning it off would then solve the problem, where an inconvenient restart would not. I sincerely hope that my working style isn't too annoying.
  12. EverNote suddenly developed the annoying habit of tracking the cursor and automatically scrolling the list of notebooks, even when the cursor is nowhere near that particular sidebar--and even when it is not in the application at all! There hasn't been an update, as far as I know. And restarting EverNote didn't fix it. Do I need to restart the entire computer? Is there some other solution? tia
