  1. really? censoring the word "*****" (starts with an 's' and rhymes with "flex")??? now that's over the line... maybe they should restrict censorship to words that are bleeped out on The Daily Show... Meanwhile we get treated with unedited Mumbai prostitution ads every week... go figure.

I am all for relatively bug-free software and would consider being a beta tester IF: EN provides a separate Premium account (I'm already a Premium subscriber, but not willing to muck up my account with testing) to be used only for this purpose; obviously I could set up my own Free account likewise. I had access to the outstanding bugs list so I'm not reporting on bugs they already know about. I was given the release docs with use cases ("how it works & what to expect") or similar documentation EN sets up a forum specifically for Beta testers (sure you already have this, but seems above that you are saying to post results in the regular forums... not a good idea)To make it worth my time, the above would be minimum requirements. In addition I would have to see concrete evidence that Evernote is serious about fixing bugs and implementing a sound SDLC to minimize future bugs. So far I haven't seen much evidence that is the case.
  3. I couldn't agree more... in fact doing releases on a 3-4 week cycle with very little documentation and lots of very old bugs tells me you don't have a tight SDLC and QA process.
  4. Works... now I have 24 hour time and year - month - day both on my EN and other apps plus the task bar display... much better... thanks for your details @jefito.
  5. report on the fix: moved the windows measurement note into .Inbox deleted Evernote 5 Help from my client opened Evernote 5 Help from link I had saved already in another note. Clicked "Join Notebook" Sync'ed client -> NADA; rien de tout; nothing at all waited a while; repeated #5 a few more times (thought maybe Evernote thought "delete and never allow this notebook to be joined by me ever again." opened my web EN account -> not there; repeated #5 again a few more times -> still not there. noticed "Joined Notebooks" on the EN web UI, clicked it and VOILA!! Its there made sure I could open it from EN web UI -> could repeated #5 and it finally showed up in EN client (Windows)
  6. Thanks, guys... I'll notify support about it... sure looks silly there and gives me a giggle. I already copied it into one of my notebooks so as long as it isn't mucking up Scott's great help guide, no harm, no foul.
  7. I agree that the way "we" in the U.S. write dates is screwy... I date stamp everything as 2013 12 29... makes much more sense. Can't believe we haven't gone metric yet either.
  8. I had "Evernote 5 Help" notebook open from last night (which is owned by spgscott) and scanned in my hand-written window measurements. I noticed it was in the wrong notebook when I wasn't allowed to enter a title. Someone is going to be pretty confused when they open Scott's help guide and see this... I can't delete it obviously... I'll contact Scott to let him know and luckily it wasn't a list of my passwords or other personal information, BUT... How come it doesn't always scan into my .Inbox notebook which is designated the default notebook?How is it I can scan something into a notebook owned by someone else and then not be able to delete my own note?How can I set up either Evernote or my Scansnap iX500 to ALWAYS scan into my Inbox notebook?If a notebook is shared, is there a monitoring function whereby the "owner" gets to approve or deny a note originating from someone else before it is incorporated into his/her notebook (similar to how one can set up a forum or BBS)?TIA

  10. me too... I'm not crazy about a work-around that costs time... time-savings is the main reason I'm here as a Premium subscriber. complaints since at least 2008? A successful company is one that listens and responds to its customers.
  11. Were you asking about Evernote Food in particular or Evernote in general? If the latter, there are quite a few use cases on the Evernote site plus some extensive blogs, etc. that various users have posted. I have adopted Evernote because after quite a bit of research, I see the potential for far superior organization and far less cultter in my life by going paperless, to say nothing of the reduced space currently occupied by lots and lots of paper and the ability to find information quickly. I'm just starting out and in process of developing my workflow for various information so I have no expertise to share.   12. I'm not clear which forum to use... this one or the one labeled simply "Evernote" for questions, issues and enhancement requests. I can see that the latter is specific to a platform, however since I currently only use Evernote on Windows 7, I don't really know if an issue or question I have is specific to W7 or not. I see a lot of overlap in the postings on the two forums. I'd appreciate clarification. TIA

  14. Does anyone know if posting a serious issue such as this gets it into the EN Support bugs/feature request workflow for action? I'm inclined to create a ticket and reference the forum discussion to be sure that it does (not that it is any guarantee to be addressed... but at least it is "official").
