About 365nice

  1. Hi - I'm pleased you are finally looking at this. From my perspective #1 and #5 would work for me. In fact I ended up in this thread because I needed zoom out! Years ago I was stunned to scan in a receipt and then find that it was too big to easily read, so I wanted cmd+- to zoom out to read the date and address. As a side note - it's taken way to long to respond to this (so I'm glad you are considering it). Like many others, I've taken the stance I won't pay you any subscription money until I'm confident you are willing to properly support customers and respond to their needs. This is a good first step to prove you are willing to support us. Tim

  4. I'm on giffgaff and get this popup in the ios app - and most annoyingly it pops up with enough delay that you can start to initiate a search request in the EN app, then the O2 add pops up and it then blocks you from using the app as the keyboard disappears. GRRRRRRR You have to terminate the EN app, and then relaunch it - you then don't get the add, and can then repeat the search you were already half way through trying. This doesn't tempt me to become a premium user again.
  5. Just as a follow up - Evernote support did investigate my problem and examined my logs, unfortunately they didn't reveal how I lost data (shame). On the plus side - I didn't realise I had a premium account (must have been some referrals), and so I was able to restore an older version of the note that had been corrupted and re-retrieve the image that had been deleted. Apparently - even without premium, support can usually help recover lost data if its due to a bug. Hopefully they can track down what causes this. And I guess its worth saying that support is working... (credit where due) Tim
  6. Thanks for the link (in fact when searching about backups I came across several of your posts - thanks for sharing). I agree about single anecdotes - however when I looked (and ended up here) - the internet does seem to have lots of references to people reporting problems (and yes - people do only tend to report negative feedback - so you take it with a pinch of salt. But there isn't smoke without some form of fire). I do get the feeling there is a bit of "taking the eye of the ball" going on at Evernote (which is a shame) - and in my case when I look at the log file for Evernote, I can clearly see an entry where it deletes an image in a note, and I didn't delete - just rotated - and then later I noticed a blank square with a ? and the log reporting "image hash not found"). So I think there is a nasty bug there. This combined with, on the weekend the iPad version started crashing when viewing some notes with images (of course - the recipe I wanted to read) - and I had to use my iPhone instead (rather annoying). All this combines to give me some cause for alarm - and definitely a wakeup call to backup my data. At the moment - they do still appear to be ahead of the competition, but I wonder how long that will last?
  7. I wish I had read about this before - fortunately I've only lost a few pictures and some notes - but this is very worrying and definitely a wakeup call to both of us (EN and me). I shall now investigate how to backup my data and keep an eye on EN alternatives.
  8. I sincerely hope that you do - such a simple feature is embarrassingly absent...
  9. I just came across this top - and am also frustrated that I can't create a simple search to find all the notes that need cleaning up - which would be the query: tag: @cleanup OR notebook: "Scanner Pro" OR notebook: Skitch (the latter two being folders things get put into by other products that I can't control)
  10. Just came across this, as I was searching how to do it! Please, please do something like this! In a world of collaboration where you can share notebooks etc, you want to share ways of navigating through items/ideas. I can't see saved searches allowing this, yet embedding a search could work well - eg something like {$search/interesting products/notebook:"product ideas",tag: interesting, tag:innovation,created:20130301}. This should display as a hyperlink so everyone working in the shared notebook can follow the link and see items building up as they are contributed. I get the impression that Evernote is quite stale in innovation... It's also frustrating that linking notes together is a clunky "find a note in the UI, click the copy link button and go back to where you want to reference to then paste it back in, then edit the link to give it a readable name". Why isn't it more Wiki like - eg. Use some syntax like above or press shft-ctrl-k and get a popup list where you can type some search criterion to filter down a list of notes to pick one and embed it where you are typing? Tim
  11. As a new evernote user - I was stunned to scan in a receipt and then find that its too big to easily read and horror of horrors - you can't even zoom out to see it all at once? ouch. Double ouch that this request seems to go back several years? Hmmm - maybe it's good I only signed up for a month...
