  1. Thank you for your responses. I do get the idea of grouping notes to create a TOC. At it's best is very basic for my uses. It is a very manual way of doing things, and only gets more messy if you want change or add links. Something that may explain my need would be to cntrl+click several notes in the note list, drag them to a shortcut, which would then create a link to this shortcut. What I have noticed is that you can drag a note from the note list into the note panel to create a shortcut (to itself)! Not much use. What is the purpose of this feature?! If you want to make a connection between notes that don't share the same tag or belong to the same notebook it gets a bit tiresome. You can cntrl+click to select them in the note list, but when you have to scroll further, the selections are lost. Anyway, I'm not really that sure if these features would actually be of benefit. I get frustrated with what EN won't do for me, which further turns me off exploring it for further uses. I will look closer at tags as you both suggest, and see if the tags created some time ago are perhaps not up to scratch with how I use EN now
  2. IT would be great to have a 'basket' area for selected notes on main screen. Copying internal links between notes is time consuming (anti productive). Often it is difficult finding a note that you want to relate others to. I am aware that creating a shortcut will achieve this, but this is more of a workaround.
  3. If I 'screen clip' a document, an invoice for example, and drop it into EV, a search within 'all notes' will find the imaged word (not bad). But, if you go to the note that contains this screen clip and perform the same search, it will not find it. Search within a note will find text only I am guessing What gives?
  4. Well, I have somehow overridden it, but I'm not sure how. If I open a note on Android and select text, I can edit directly while bypassing the edit icon. Don't tell any developers please, they may change it! The big advantage here is that when you hit the edit icon inside a long text note, the screen refreshes to another position meaning that you have to find your location again.
  5. 'tis a pity there's no choice. Personally, I find the edit button major disincentive to create notes in the first place. In my lot as a building contractor, a single note has a lot of text/pic info that is recorded about a building site. These notes put any bit of important info right in front of me. Internal links are wonderful, but I don't always get the chance to create these until I am back in the office. What I do notice is that when you want to add/change a note on a smartphone, 2/3rds of the screen is taken up with keyboard which makes it, as I say, a disincentive to use the note. Of course I can create a new note, but I like an app to work with me, not for me to work around it.
  6. Thanks. So are you saying that there is no way to turn this off within Evernote?
  7. When you open an existing note in Evernote Android, the edit button appears in bottom right corner. Is there a way to turn this feature on/off? I am aware that it will become easier to create mistakes with unwanted editing. Thanks, Chris
  8. Thank you for replies everyone. Problem solved. I will look deeper into advanced searching as well
  9. I am unsure how to enter a correct search to get specific results. ie If I am looking for a note with 'king furniture' in it, the results come back with other notes containing the word 'worKING'. How would I specify a search only this note? I have tried king + furniture as well, with no difference. Thank you in advance. Chris
