  1. The answer that I got today from support:

    Quote

We have already passed it on to our developers for further investigation.

Please note that the lifetime of a bugfix can vary significantly depending on a multitude of factors, including its reproducibility, severity, and complexity, and it usually requires a thorough analysis, testing, and monitoring. That is to say, while our developers are actively working on it, releasing a fix can take a while, and therefore, we currently don't have an ETA to provide.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Your issue has been flagged and forwarded to our developers. The information you provided will assist them in identifying the cause and working towards a fix. Currently, there's nothing more we can actively do.

  2. Does anyone has this issue too?

I have locked my phone (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with Android 14 and ONE UI 6.0) into portrait mode, so that even when I turn my phone accidentally in horizontal, every app shouldn't turn but remain in portrait mode.

So far so good, works fine with every app on my phone ... except of Evernote (version 10.81.0 from update today):

Although my phone is locked in portrait mode and I turn my phone accidentally horizontal, then the Evernote app turns it's view, too!

But I haven't set at my phone this automatic turn of view!

Do you have this phenomenon (Android)?

  3. Image Alignment does not work at all - see screenshots attached.

No matter what kind of alignment I choose.

The image moves to the right, for example, when I choose that icon, okay, but the text stays always below the image.
No, there is no extra line / linebreak after the image.

  4. In the legacy version you could specify how the notes are sorted within a notebook.
This is also possible in the new version, but it is global for ALL notebooks.

Please reintroduce the ability to set a notebook sorting view INDIVIDUALLY.

    Example:
some notebooks should ALWAYS be sorted by name, other notebooks ALWAYS sorted by modified date.

...but you get that the app is pretty busy for some time - hours to days - after an update...

How can I see that this process (conversion into new code, for example) is completed?
I don't know when the synchronization will take place.
There is no longer a SYNC button, no status to tell that EN is "finished" now with all this transformation ...

  6. okay, I hopefully have understood you right:

I have to wait some days so that all of my 24.000 notes have been "translated" into the new code.

My storage is enough, I have 3 HDs in my WIN computer and each of it, even the system HD has 75% space left. So that shouldn't be a problem.

So I hope for the best, that Evernote will become faster at my end ... thanks for your explanation so far.

  7. Yesterday I updated from Legacy to the latest Evernote for Windows (WIN 10 prof. x64 Desktop, 16 GB RAM).

Now in comparison with the Legacy version the scrolling

    • within the navigation sidbar
    • within the notes list in the middle coloumn
    • the context menu when I click on the 3 dots on the top right of a single note (see screenshot 1 below)
    • the context menu when I want to add an image or something else to a single note (see screenshot 2 below)

is really slow and not smooth.

I have 496 notebooks and around 50 notebook stacks, and scrolling through them in the navigation sidebar is really a pain: it is sooo slow and jerks, sorry I don't know the right English word for it; same when I scroll through the 2nd column i.e. the notes list or when I try to mark an item in the context menu of a single note like you see in the screenshot below.

It really makes no fun to work with it 😞

Scrolling within a single note's text, even when it has lots of images in it, is however working normal and smooth.

I'm used to working quickly and smoothly with Evernote, scrolling, clicking wherever I want - at least that's how it was in the legacy version. Why doesn't this work with the latest version (as described)?

  8. In the latest Evernote for Windows (see my signature for version) the UI colors are really bad.
In the Legacy version, for example, the navigation sidebar was dark, the rest was bright, so you have identified the sidebar on first glance and could better differentiate the different areas: sidebar, next to it the notes of a notebook, next to it the content of a note.

In the latest Evernote for Windows the colors are these:

    • the notes list of a notebook is in a yellowish light grey: #F6F5F0 (No. 1 in the screenshot)
    • the navigation sidebar is a light grey: #F2F2F2 (No. 2 in the screenshot)
    •  the note content next to it is white: #FFFFFF (No. 3 in the screenshot)

Sorry, but this is really a bad UI and hard to read.

Choosing the "dark mode" is not an option, because then EVERYTHING is dark: again no successful distinction between the columns is possible.

Please make the distinction between the columns clearer, it's really hard to distinguish a yellowish gray from a light gray.

I would recommend to make the sidebar darker than the notes list column.

  9. When I create a new note and click on the button "weitere hinzufügen" (German), to add a template like "weekly plan" oder any other, then ... nothing happens, nothing is added, the note stays empty.

Pay attention to my first screenshot, what button I have used!!

So adding templates from the "recommended templates" does not work at all.

  10. I would like to have different start views for different devices.

    Example:
On my smartphone, I show the “Favorites” widget in the start view for quicker access and a quicker overview. I don't need this on larger devices like the tablet or the Windows computer or the web version where the screen is big enough and I want to hide this widget there. (yes, I know that I can view the favorites through the sidebar, but the point is to have different views of the start view for better working experience).

    Generally speaking:
It would be nice if you could adjust the start view differently for different devices.
Also because you have different things to work on in Evernote on different devices and would like to have different widgets in the start view.

The issue will be solved with release 10.58.1

For iOS it is already available, and I can confirm that under iOS, the bug is squeezed. For Android as you can read from the version counter, it is still on the release channel.

Why do YOU declare this as "solved" when this ANDROID (!!!) version isn't available at all, although YOU don't have Android and therefore YOU can't even know it???

When the TO and others with Android here hadn't the option to verify your claim???

If you don't have an Android device to prove that the issue has been solved beyond a doubt, then refrain from making false claims that something has been solved, especially if that version is not even available on Android yet.🤬👎🏻

And as @Alxasaid, the prob with S-Pen witch belongs to this without a doubt, isn't solved for months.

Just because it works on your iPhone doesn't mean it will work the same on Android.  You are here in the Android forum
