  1. Here, on macOS with the latest Evernote v10.77.3, I still have to click twice: After initially clicking on the green New button it unfolds and shows a purple Task button. I then have to click again on the green button.
  2. On my Mac, the window opens always in the size and format that I left it last time before quitting the app. But I agree with you – what you're experiencing should not happen.
  3. Local version vs. web-version – see the differences: Thickness of separator Space between headline and first line of body text Font
  4. I'm on macOS 10.13.6 – here's my desktop – the complete application window is enlarged horizontally. The other screenshot shows a single note window.
  5. I compared your screenshot with the situation on my Mac (High Sierra) and I do not have any space between the note info and the upper edge – on your screenshot marked as 1. Perhaps something was updated in the meantime (your post was February 2, mine here is on February 20). Or it's a Windows thing?
  6. Not sure whether this is part of any table bug but when I add a PDF the representation of the inserted file stretches across the note width. Looks like a kid trying to learn to build a website with Netscape in 1999. As you can see, at least the attached photo doesn't blow up. Below you see also the awesome implementation in Apple Notes. Sadly, I didn't have a screenshot from the previous Evernote design which was similar in the sense that an inserted PDF did NOT stretch all the way across. EVERNOTE APPLE NOTES
  7. I agree. But there's also a part where I feel there should be *more* space:
  8. Is it just me? On my Mac, the far left pane with the notebooks and the pane in the middle below the notes have a slightly different colored gray. The gray in the middle pane appears slightly warmer (values in Hex RGBA): Left: 0xF0F0F0FF Middle: 0xF6F5EFFF Ideally, you'd have a dark gray pane at the left a medium gray pane in the middle, and then your note would be on white on the right. So the Evernote designer tries to "distinguish" the far left pane and the middle pane by a mere subtlety. Frankly, it looks like a mistake. It looks weird.
  9. Yay, Green is the new Black 🍀 Lucky us. What was declared to be "intrusive" before is now replaced by a truly incredible Hulk in action. Meet the new horizontal blotch Lego – you'll never forget what "plus" actually stands for. What they mean by "enhancing focus" is that some users could not find a way to create a new note and those visually impaired folks need ... assistance. Google's and Slack's UX designers learned a lot about those buttons – why not Evernote?
  10. It seems to be a Mac thing and perhaps also because I'm on an older version. I never have font issues with the zillion other apps/browsers that I'm using.
  11. Thank you, Dave, great analysis. And thanks for the tips in this thread about logging out and back in – did NOT work. I was going to cancel my subscription but sadly there's nothing much out there that offers easy image editing and offline operations. I'm a professional designer who has to justify every element of my work. And believe me – design is all about communication. Even in Fashion, there are rules ... but to break rules in Fashion is fun and refreshing. The same goes for website design. Yes, we want to be entertained. But with Evernote – the name already has something rather conservative in it – I expect to have a device that works. For my eyes. Not against them. Francesco Patarnello, the CEO of Evernote may confuse this note-taking device with Milan Fashion Week. Hire a new designer for every new season and change the look every year like as if it's an iPod Mini. Next up, a green sidebar? I'm afraid of things to come.
  12. In the new design, the "Normal" font is not as easy to read as previously. See screenshots of my notes below. New (Sans Serif) – see the jumping "O" letters in the word "PHOTOS" which is not as easy to read: Old (Source Sans Pro) – everything is much easier to read:
  13. I just went to my WordPress admin panel – imagine if the left pane would be white (imagine the outcry). Another great example of a stellar redesign that's "built for focus" is the updated Slack interface:
  14. I absolutely hate this glaring bright stuff all over the place. A knowledgeable designer would actually help a user focus on their work and not highlight (pun intended) all features and elements of the app. Yes, I can collapse the side bar with a proprietary button at the bottom (all other apps and websites have this "show/hide" option at the top left), and yes, I can make my window smaller but give me a break and let me focus on my work. Evernote mentions "visually intrusive elements like a dark sidebar" however in reality it is bright stuff that is "intrusive". Dark space goes out of the way. A bright space asks for my eyes to look at it.
  15. 1. On my larger desktop screen it glares too much, like looking at a large light table. Previously, the dark pane at the left with the list of books helped me focus more on my notes and work shown to the right. So this is a step backwards especially if Evernote claims that this new interface will put my work "more into focus". That claim is like a contradiction! 2. The font of the titles, etc. on the desktop app is now consistant with the web version but they still look somewhat different (less bold) on my large iPad Pro. No big deal but hey...
  16. I have the same issue. I run Evernote on my iPad Pro with the latest version of Evernote 10.57.2 on iOS16. On my Mac, I have Evernote 10.65.2. When I create a new note on the iPad it shows in the Web version of Evernote in my browser but not on the Mac. I logged out of Evernote on the Mac and back in but the note is not there.
  17. Evernote 10.58.8 macOS 10.13.6 Hello, my Mac has 39 GB of free space. Nevertheless, I receive the following alert. Should I ignore this? What to do?
  18. Solved (partly) I had been using the Mac App Store version of the Evernote application. I now downloaded Evernote directly from the Evernote site and now, links to Finder, Cardhop, Things, and the Notebooks app resolve fine. A big 👏 to the forum users @CoID and @wealthychef in this thread here. So, Mac App Store apps are limited ("sandboxed"), oh well. What's not working though are links to DEVONthink items: Evernote enforces them to have "http://" at the beginning – my browser opens instead. So even if I paste... x-devonthink-item://123B53E7-4AA4-49C3-9944-B4FAE3600A56 ...Evernote makes it into... http://x-devonthink-item://123B53E7-4AA4-49C3-9944-B4FAE3600A56 ...which is a link that I cannot even correct – cannot remove the "http://" part Evernote, if you're reading this – please fix. The workaround for DEVONthink links is: paste the link into an Apple Note first, hit return (makes it automatically into a link). Then copy and paste the link into Evernote.
  19. Thank you, Boot17. This works indeed for Finder (*) and Things. However, unfortunately not for DEVONthink and Cardhop (*) Other writing applications create links immediately when pressing return at the end of the link but I can remember to follow the procedure: Select text Press keyboard shortcut Command-K or select "Add Link" from the contextual menu Paste URL Click "Apply" (*) EDIT: it seems that some links to Cardhop or DEVONthink indeed work but others don't - they open in a browser instead Additionally, some links to Finder folders work but others don't (UNIX permissions are the same) – I'm on High Sierra, perhaps that's the issue? Works: file:///Users/martin/Downloads Does not work: file:///Users/martin/Pictures
  20. This was working nicely in the classic version of Evernote v7.14 but to date, in the new version of Evernote, I have the issue that I cannot use links to Finder items anymore. The same goes for other apps like Things, Cardhop, and DEVONthink, however those URL schemes had never worked. I would like to see implementation of URL schemes so that links like the following examples will resolve correctly. After all, Apple Notes opens those links in their respective applications just fine. Evernote should be able to do so as well! file:///Users/martin/Downloads x-devonthink-item://F1ED6DCB-FC81-4FAC-8F70-24118A1928AE things:///show?id=ToNNXNDwkt7gkLZvtUx9L4 x-cardhop://show?id=contact:C1826097-1D1B-45C3-9464-0FD5A103067F&contact=CVS Please reply to this topic if you agree.
  21. I tried again on the new version 10.10.5 on my Mac and I still cannot link to Finder items 😡 Please reinstate this. And also please let me also link to Cardhop, Things, and DEVONthink items.
  22. Here's a response from Evernote support (emphasis in red by me): Chipo A. (Evernote Help and Learning) Mar 22, 2021, 9:12 PDT Hello Martin, Thank you for contacting Evernote Customer Support. I'll be happy to assist you with your concern. I understand that you tried the new Evernote app for your Mac and found out that you cannot link items in macOS finder anymore. I appreciate and thank you for giving out the link example, and for stating that this feature works on the Legacy version of the Evernote app. Just to give you a heads up, we haven’t built this feature into the new Evernote app. This is one of a handful of features we are still considering. Thanks for letting us know this feature is important to you. I will share this information with our product team. For the meantime, you can download the Legacy version of the app that you can use side-by-side with the new Evernote app. While we encourage everyone to give the new Evernote app a try, we recognize that there are some scenarios where using an older version is necessary or desired. You can download the Evernote Legacy app by following the instructions in this Help & Learning article: Install an older version of Evernote. If you run into any trouble, I'd be happy to help troubleshoot with you so you can get back to being productive with Evernote. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, Martin. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or concerns. Stay safe! Cheers, Chipo A. Customer Support Representative
  23. Am I the only user having the issue? None of the following links work with Evernote 10.9.10 but partly do work with Evernote 7.14 on macOS High Sierra: Works in Evernote v7.14 - Does not work in Evernote 10.9.10 MAC OS FINDER – file:///Users/martin/Downloads Does not work in Evernote v7.14 - Link can be created in Evernote 10.9.10 but then just opens in a browser DEVON THINK – x-devonthink-item://5F28855A-21B8-4268-BBC2-A63BF04FE0D1 Does not work in Evernote v7.14 and does not work in Evernote 10.9.10 THINGS – things:///show?id=ToNNXNDwkt7gkLZvtUx9L4 Works in Evernote v7.14 - Link can be created in Evernote 10.9.10 but then just opens in a browser CARDHOP – x-cardhop://show?id=contact:C1826097-1D1B-45C3-9464-0FD5A103067F&contact=CVS Thanks, Martin
  24. Hello, I tried the new Evernote v10.9.10 and notice that I cannot link anymore to an item in macOS Finder. This worked in the classic version v.7.14. Those links look like this: file:///Users/martin/Desktop/untitled%20folder I'm on High Sierra. I need to have those links in my notes. Please reinstate this feature because I use Evernote as my information hub Thanks, Martin
