Skitch error "skitch localnotestore.sqlite couldn't be opened"

After using Skitch for years, I'm starting to experience sync problems with the reported error "localnotestore.sqlite couldn't be opened."

Evernote seems to be functioning properly and syncing my notes with the service.  

So far I've done the following:

1. Killed both Skitch and Evernote and both helpers.

2. Moved com.evernote.Evernote to the trash

3. Deleted com.skitch.skitch.plist

4. Downloaded and installed the latest Evernote, launched it, and it successfully downloaded all of my notes. 

5. Downloaded and installed the latest Skitch, launched it, entered account info and successfully synchronized with Evernote—temporarily.

While in step 5 I could clearly see Skitch syncing with Evernote—I could see and access old Skitch notes—it eventually displayed 0 notes and with any new screen-capture I receive the original error: "localnotestore.sqlite couldn't be opened"

My Skitch notebook in Evernote shows 963 items.

I'm running OS X 10.11.5.

Hi.  Database problem (obviously) - I'd recommend a support ticket.
