Ulrik 0
Can I update my word file because I have a word file on Evernote but I have added some texst on the word document. Should I delete the word document on evernote and then put a the same word document on Evernote just a newer version? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 10,331 Posted March 8, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted March 8, 2016 Hi. If you have a word file attached to a note, you should be able to open the file directly from that note. If you edit and save the file it should save the changes back into the note. There should be no need to maintain a separate file. More on file attachments. Link to comment

You sound like you're keeping two versions of your word document; one in Evernote and one in a different file system. This is bound to create the problem you indicated. If the word file has to stay external to Evernote, I would store a file link in Evernote instead of the actual file. To answer your question; if I was maintaining two copies, Yes, I would delete the attachment and replace it with the newer one;. Link to comment
