Searching for ***

I have foolishly been putting three asterisks beside minor points in notes that I need to return to. But if I search for *** (or "***" or '***') it finds some random subset of notes that have no connection with the search string as far as I can tell. 

 

It's so long since I used MS-DOS that I can't remember how to tell it I want literal *** - any ideas anyone?

Hi.  Sadly Evernote doesn't recognise punctuation in the search function.  If you want to find keywords,  better to use Xtags - add "X" to a standard word.  Searches will find the 'misspelled' word easily.  Don't know whether Finder would do a better job on the note content for "***tags"

While Finder isn't keen, Spotlight works a treat. I suspect these are two facets of the same program, but whatever it works!
