Impossible to connect to the server

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

So, I rarely use Evernote on my computer since it's more a note taking app for my phone, but lately I have needed to save whole pages of internet, which I've done using the Chrome add on. The problem is, when I open Evernote on Windows, it says "impossible to connect to the server. Sync has failed". I've updated the software, restarted the computer, everything, but this has been going on for at least a week and it's a real problem, since I need to print some of my saved notes from the PC! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@JohnDM: The new Windows release has been working fine for me, on two machines. No disaster here.

With regards to the Laure's actual problem, it'd be worth check the activity log (Help / Activity log); there may be some clues there.

Thanks guys, here's what I get in the activity log:

14:59:52 [4496] Launching url http://evernote.com/about/support/windows.php
17:02:49 [4496] 0% Connecting to www.evernote.com/edam/user
17:02:50 [4496] 0% Can't send HTTP request, error: INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT

Internet is working fine, shall I say. If the problem keeps on, I'll try reverting to an old version.... As I'm running on Vista so shouldn't be affected by the SSL problem...

Actually a number of Win Vista, and even Win7, users have reported that they had to apply the SSL 3 fix.
