Sync error

First stop : check your activity log (Help / Activity log). That may give you a clue as to what's happening (may give you a headache, too).

 

Second stop: Open a support ticket. See https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/51807-best-practices-submitting-a-support-ticket/. If you're a free user, then you may not get a quick response time (see the special note there), but as you're having account access problems, they should be willing to help you.

Hi all 

I've downloaded Evernote on to my new Acer laptop but when I try to sync I'm getting a red exclamation mark with a Sync Failed message. Any ideas? Thanks! Vicky 

 

General Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Restart your PC/Mac
  2. Confirm your Internet access using SpeedTest.net
  3. Delete the Evernote app, and redownload and reinstall.

You can try Evernote after each of the above steps.

Am embarrassed to admit that it worked fine after I'd rebooted*

No problem.  You are quite welcome.  Now you know -- restarting/rebooting is always the first thing to try when things don't work right.  You'll be amazed at how many times this resolves the issue.
