Awful sound quality recording with Nexus 5

Hi guys,

 

I have been using evernote with an Iphone 4 for a while now and I recently switched to using a google Nexus 5. I really like the phone, but I just got back from my drum class where I am used to having workable audio recordings to listen to and the Nexus 5 sound quality is beyond terrible, it's unbelievably bad. It's completely unusable. High frequencies are cut off and distorted, drums are muffled.

 

Is anyone having these kinds of problems with their Nexus 5? Is this an Evernote thing or a hardware thing? Is there a fix for it?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No experience with an N5 but you could install another recording app and try again - see whether the quality is any better..
