Evernote 5.6.2 for Mac

SInce I installed version 5.6.2 of Evernote for Mac I keep having problems and getting the following messages (the messages are in French, this is my own translation of the messages).

 

When scanning to Evernote doc :

Older version: the local Evernote data is managed by a more recent version, Use the latest version

Scan to Evernote (Document) : Start-up of Evernote for Mac failed. Make sure that is correctly installed.

 

Should I uninstall Evernote and of do I do this without losing any data ?

Hi - I'd say uninstall/ reinstall,  but first...

 

local notebooks aren't ever synced to Evermnote's servers.  Export them to individual ENEX files - one per notebook.  Don't forget to check the options and tick 'include tags' if you use them.

 

unsynced notes that should have synced,  but haven't yet done so - send them to your account via its email address,  using the @notebook #tag flags in the title as necessary,  or export them as above to a separate ENEX file for each notebook.
