attachments fail to open in EN ios for ipad

two different types of failures when i try to open a pdf from EN ipad app:

1. gives me a blank screen with just name of file at top

2. not blank screen, just grey with text "open office xml ....."

what am i doing wrong? how can i resolve this?

May be a corrupted file or note - do you have access to a desktop to log in to Evernote.com via a browser?  Does the server copy of your note/ PDF behave in the same way?  If not,  the problem is with the iPad (do you have any local software that can read PDFs?) - try Evernote uninstall/ reinstall.
