Handwritten note -> no text recognition

Hello everyone,

 

i use the latest Windows7 version of evernote (premium).

I write notes with the "hand written note" feature (the one with the yellow background).

I use a wacom monitor/tablet (DTU-1631)

These notes are not searchable like photos of handwritten notes (jpg). Why?

Can you post one of those handwritten notes here, or a test note? Some of us could try and see if we have any luck.

i think it is a general problem of the "handwritten note" function in the windows version and has nothing to do with my handwriting etc.

This is puzzling. I wonder if, strangely, the handwritten notes are treated differently than images? That would explain why the screenshot is indexed but the original is not. But that wouldn't make much sense because I imagine Evernote would want your handwritten stuff to be searchable!

 

I might have to leave more experimenting up to a Windows user here who can test out on there machine... I'm sure there are a few!

Unfortunately, this thread seems to confirm this is a problem. I would suggest you submit a support ticket.
