Can I use my laptop to set up an Evernote database for a friend with out compromising my personal Evernote account?

You can help your friend to set up a new EN account, of course.

But why would you use YOUR laptop for it?

I guess your friend has his own device (Desktop, laptop). Better to just help him to set it up with his device.

 

Basically EN will only allow one account with one machine (there are tricks around this, but not relevant in the beginning).

You can use any computer to create an account and/or use the web client. But I would never use any other client on any of my computers/devices for someone else's account.

And it's always helpful to mention what client(s) you're using, when asking for help.
