I have many stacks of notebooks - using as chapters in a book.

 

Is there a way to make the NOTEBOOK icons smaller, so they all fit on one page?

It's helpful to specify which client(s) you're using when asking for help.  AFAIK, there is no way to resize the notebook icons.

I use them all - LOL - I switch between a desktop, an iPad, an iPhone and a PC depending on my location...

 

So if it worked on any Evernote version I'd be happy.
