How do you select a part of a page?

Sorry if this is obvious or even covered before but how do you select a particular section of a page as the "selections" option does not appear in the Chrome web clipper? I see the +- symbols but these options give you: all, or nearly nothing, of the page respectively.

If I understand your question correctly, I just tried it and I received an option to clip "the selected".  I highlighted what I wanted to clip, then right clicked within that area.  I received these options:  http://goo.gl/4kFx2J

You need to select the content before you click the toolbar button. Then Clipper will recognize your selection and default to a selection clip. Or you can clip via the right click menu.
