Create a new note with either the keyboard shortcut or "New Note" button. In either case the new note is created, but then the first item in the current notebook is selected for editing.
For example assume there there are three notes, titled "1", "2", and "3" and the list is sorted by Title. Press the "new note" button and a note titled "Untitled Note" is created, but the note titled "1" is selected in the list and presented for editing.
