How does it work but if the files are in local notebooks? Are they also be sent to the Evernote server to make them searchable? Link to comment

If you add an image or a non-OCR PDF though, you won't get the 'full' search experience, otherwise the content would have to take a trip through the Evernote server, which kinda defeats the object of keeping items locally. You have to add tags and titles, and OCR your own text if necessary for best reults. I believe. Link to comment
