d1n60 0 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I've got many tags that have identical strings in them that I would like to change to something different. Ex: 123 Mellow Brook Road blah blah 1123 Mellow Brook Road blah blah 2....123 Mellow Brook Road blah blah n I'd like to change the above to:321 Mellow Brook St. blah blah 1321 Mellow Brook St. blah blah 2 ....321 Mellow Brook St. blah blah n Is there a way I can do this in one operation - like a find and replace? TIA

Had you simply had one tag for '321 Mellow Brook St' & used 'blah, blah, blah' as a second tag, you'd have only needed to do one change - rename '321 Mellow Brook St' to 'used to be 321 Mellow Brook St' & you would be done.
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted May 7, 2013 Level 5* Posted May 7, 2013 No way to do this, as far as I know, but +1 for what looks like a Paul Klee avatar..
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted May 8, 2013 Level 5* Posted May 8, 2013 Likewise. I was considering using something from his work -- maybe a clip out of Fish Magic, I like the little dunce cap guy -- as my avatar here, but wasn't happy with any of the results at the time. Might need to revisit that. Anyways, good luck with your renaming. Every time that I see questions like this, I think that they'd be a good addition to the Windows ENScript.exe console application. No such luck at this time though.
