(Archived) Capturing DVD stills stopped working in Lion

I used to use Skitch to capture still pictures from DVDs and iTunes videos, which is something the default screenshot utility can't do (presumably for copyright reasons). It still works in Snow Leopard, but it's broken in Lion. Is this a new Lion thing that there's no way around, or is it a bug?

I'm using the non-App-Store version of the app (currently on 1.0.7, but it was the same with previous versions).

We had to make a change to the capture mechanism since we were accessing it using an older graphics capture method that's no longer supported by Apple.

So, unfortunately there's nothing we can currently do to resolve this. At least for now, you might try some alternatives that are out there for capturing DVD video screenshots.
