It is a bit of an ugly workaround.Select the text that you want to highlight, then go to Show Font window (Command + T), you can set the background colour of the selected text - which has the same visual effect of highlighting (like you do to pdf files).On the top of that Font window, there are 4 options - from left to right, you have "Text underline", "Text strikethrough", "Text Color", and "Document color". "Document color" is what you want.It's a rather ugly workaround. Hopefully they'll add a button and simply the process. I personally would find that far more useful than buttons like "record audio".
