(Archived) Backup with Time Machine doesn't work

The last time I used Time Machine to back up my computer, I lost my local notes. I wasn't able to find the notes in any folder. I tried to make a new note and apparently all notes are stored in the Caches folder, which isn't included in the backup. And to be more complicated, the attachments are stored elsewhere.

Is there a way to backup my offline notes with Time Machine without exporting my notes manually? I'd like to make it an Automator action if possible.

Or can someone say where I can find my notes with attachments on my Mac?

Thanks!

To make sure you get everything, point TM at user/library/application support/Evernote

Can the place of storage be changed? I believe to have understood EN for Windows was able to do so.

I'm pretty sure you can do it with Windows and pretty sure you can't with OS X.

If you are just pointing Time Machine at it, does it really matter where it is? And if not, why bother moving it?
