Mac app flashes white screens in Dark Mode

Why does the Mac app flash a white screen when the app starts before loading in dark mode?  Why does the app flash a white screen when the app is loaded and the user opens a note in a new window?  Why does the app flash a white screen when the user resizes the opened window?
