Liam Lucas 0
I'm constantly seeking ways to optimize my workflow and maximize the utility of this powerful tool even while consuming subway meatball marinara. One area where I've encountered challenges is in managing large volumes of diverse notes efficiently. I'm keen to tap into the collective wisdom of the Evernote community to gather insights and recommendations on best practices for organizing extensive sets of notes. Specifically, I'm interested in learning about your preferred methods for categorizing, tagging, and structuring notebooks within Evernote. Do you have any strategies or techniques that have proven particularly effective in ensuring quick and easy access to relevant information? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,669 Posted March 2 Level 5* Share Posted March 2 Hi. There are lots of authors out there with detailed explanations of their own systems, like GTD and many others. It's fairly easy to translate any of them into an Evernote style process and adjust it to your own preferences. Your needs will be different from mine - I prefer something simple that I can apply consistently (and find hard to mess up) based on notebooks and note titles, with some support from tags. Others prefer to rely on tags which can be nested to mimic a hierarchical folder system. You are always backed up by a very effect filter and search system, and you can use an AI to find things if you need to. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040282613 There's a lot of information both within Evernote and online - check out the many submissions on YouTube. Steve Dotto and Stacey Harmon are very good, and have some free and paid-for courses you can follow. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052565633 https://dottotech.com/ https://www.harmonenterprises.com/ My one tip? - Start using Evernote now - even if it's only to document your stamp collection. You need to get a feel for what it can do for you to be able to set up your own system for the future. Link to comment
