Window shrinks and shifts when I start a search using the global shortcut

I am running on windows version 10.76.2. When I use the window snapping feature built into Windows to make Evernote 3/4 of my desktop with another app being the other 1/4 and then try to use the global shortcut to search Evernote, the app shrinks and shifts to another part of the desktop. I then have to put it back where it was. However, if I have Evernote in full screen, the app does not shrink. In fact, it works as expected. Is this a bug or am I doing something here?

There's another thread about this here... I don't have a minute to look for it now but if you try a search on the forum here you might come up with it.
