When I paste a filename with an extension in Evernote, the application automatically converts the file into a hyperlink. Even if I remove the hyperlink and press Enter, shift Enter, or the spacebar, Evernote re-adds the hyperlink. How can I prevent Evernote from doing this?

Hi.  Only way I know is to hit 'undo' (Ctrl-Z in Windows) just after the link is converted.
