Just can't create tasks why and what do I do?

I try to add new tasks (on desktop) and when I hit the "create task" button, window does not close and nothing happens.  I have seen this before and learned to hit cancel after hitting create to make the task go away and usually that task will show up later.  I have to remember to check that it does.  Not great for my brain to have to check on the 2nd brain, but okay whatever.   This morning I can only change tasks, not create.  Processor is running hard too  I also tried the web version as a last ditch effort not have my morning planning routing broken.  Same issue there.  EN is just not accepting new tasks right now.   Why does this happen from time to time?  How do I deal with this?

Hi.  Have you tried creating a task on another device?  What's your current Evernote version?
