Option to make headings globa with format

bacizone

Idea

HI,

1. When document structuring elements (Normal text / Small / Medium / Large Header together with custom formatting) are set in the desktop Electron version of Evernote, custom format settings  are not synced to the EN web app.

2. Both the EN webapp and the desktop app should use a global user adjustable / formatted document structuring elements. Whenever I open an old document, I hate to iterate through all the different headers and apply the updated style manually. It is great that this is document based by default, but there should be an option to use user specified formatted headers to a document structure automatically!

Hi.  I don't expect that any formatting options will automatically apply to existing notes.  You may be able to get some consistency if you use Templates,  but while I agree a standard layout / format structure would be nice to have,  there may be more important priorities for the time being.

That's not my experience. The settings are retained for that note in the web version as well, which is exactly the same as for the desktop version.

As @gazumped has mentioned, templates should be the way of getting some consistency - this is how they used to work. However now if you use a template (or even copy a note) the  formatting is lost. I hope this is a bug.

1. I noticed that sometimes the making custom format for headers in the desktop app is transferred to the webapp, but somtimes not. So this is not 100% working all the time. I often re-opens very old notes (using En for more than 10 years) and reformat them to the new headers.

2. I see I can save a template, but this might be good for new documents only... I can not not apply e.g. custom formatted headers to an existing note, can I?1
