Lost note content for 2nd time in 45 days!

Recommended Posts

This is the second time I have lost content in notes in the last 45 days - from 8/16 to 8/21/23...  I take daily notes as part of my work and have done so for several years without issue.  I contacted EN about this and received a late response and they were unable to resolve and restore the notes.  I have a typical MacBook Pro running the most current OS.

Whenever I have had a question or issue in the past I could reach someone and get it resolved.  that no longer seems to be the case.

If this isn't resolved, I will have to quit using EN and will let others know it is not a reliable service anymore.

It has been a huge disappointment and inconvenience so looking for resolution here.

Hi.  I don't see why you're having issues contacting support now that you did not before - it's still the same addresses...these Forums are mainly user 2 user but subscribers can raise support queries here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and all users here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps - feedback options are available too via feedback@evernote.com

Thanks, it has been a while since I had to contact EN about an issue and these last 2 months the response has been very slow and there is no way to call anyone that I was able to see - even chat has been unavailable (see message on EN.com.).  The feedback and guidance given last time did not restore the lost content and I fear the same will happen this time.  My notes are subject to audits and EN has always been reliable until recently.  If glitches causing lost notes can't be restored, the service is of no value in may case.

There's a new blog entry which may give you some reassurance - https://evernote.com/blog/future-proofing-evernotes-foundations/ - but there is always one sure-fire method to avoid content loss: make your notes in word,  or some other approved word processor,  and attach the DOCX file or equivalent to your note.  Since edits are being completed before being saved,  there should be no chance that any content will be lost along the way.

Even with your existing notes,  Evernote should have a snapshot of the content each time the note is changed - Note History should allow you to step back if content has been lost.

If the notes themselves have been lost,  Support is your best bet.  This help page has some suggestions too... What to do if content is missing from a note
