Evernote forcing me to subscribe? No free version?

I used to pay for evernote but let the paid version expire. Is there a way to get the free version instead? I rarely use it. The app gives me two paid options and no free option.

Is there a free version and if so, how do I get it to work?

If you're seeing a pop-up that offers a trial membership,  then look for 'skip trial' in the top left corner to set up a free account.
