Default Setting to View PDFs as "All Pages" does not work

Recommended Posts

Actual:
New multiple page PDFs added to Evernote appear in Single Page View

Expected:
New multiple page PDFs added to Evernote appear in All Pages View

To Replicate:

Go to Evernote > Settings > Preferences > Notes
Under `PDFs` set to "All Pages"
Add a PDF that is 2+ pages long

Hi gazumped,

Okay I have tried the reinstallation, sign out and sign back in new PDFs with multiple pages still persist to show only the first page. The issue is not resolved.

Hmmn.  My Preferences are set to single page view,  and I just right-click to change that when necessary;  but I'm a Win 11 user so no direct comparison here.  I can only suggest feedback or Support request for more from Evernote...

@clang and @gazumped. In my experience only adding a pdf to an existing note, either using the attach function or by drag and drop, respects the preference set. Any route that automatically creates a pdf in a new note saves it in the default one page view. These methods include

  • dragging to the note list,
  • using import folders,
  • right clicking the file and choosing "Send to Evernote" (Windows, I'm sure there is a Mac equivalent)
  • Using the webclipper.

So a very limited preference  - whether this is by design or just a lack of understanding of the diversity of methods people use to attach pdfs, is anyones guess.
